  1. I was honest about it at work. Then again 5 of my co-workers had the surgery done as well so it wasn't seen as a big deal. HIPPA does protect you. If your employer or co-workers harass you about your surgery, you have every right to file a complaint against them. The reason you're having this surgery is to save your life. If your doctor thought you could lose weight te old fashioned way you wouldn't be getting it. Don't be ashamed of it.
  2. Hey all! I wanted to update you on the calves situation. Everything is normal. No blood clots or fluids. Best we could figure was some slight dehydration. When I started drinking more Water the pain went away and I've been pain free for a little over a week. Thanks for all your help!
  3. I am terrified of blood clots too, but sadly haven't managed that level of movement. I instead get up every hour to 2 hours and walk around the house for 10-15 mins. That wears me out enough.
  4. Had my surgery the 15th. So far I'm having lots of gas pain, especially in my left shoulder. Also my incisions are starting to itch like crazy. I'm getting down my liquids and protein OK but I think my protein is contributing to the gas. Anyone else having this problem?
  5. That's good to know. Thanks guys. I'm trying my best to stay hydrated, but I'm still getting adjusted to how much I can take at one time.
  6. Good day everyone! I just had my VSG surgery 2 days ago and have been getting up to walk around about every 2 hours. However I'm noticing some pain in both my calves. There's no swelling, or redness, or even tenderness. They feel sore, like after a charlie horse. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks for your help!

  8. December 15th here! And I understand you about the fear and the excitement. This is the first step on a long road to success! Good luck on the 15th! Also, as for Protein/Vitamin powders I'm using a combination: Complete Protein (which is vegan and gluten free) and GNC's Women's Ultra Mega Maximum Nutrition (an awesome vitamin powder).
