Hello, I am 6 months after my gastric sleeve surgery. I decided on Jan first to start taking my weight seriously after seeing the scale go to 416. I joined a bariatric weight management program within the hospital network in mm y state. They tested me for everything under the sun. I was required to attend some Nutrition and Life skills classes. I decided in February to try to live as if I had the surgery already. My thought was if I can't eat correctly now then I won't do it after the surgery.
Surgery day came in June and eating correctly helped me lose 35 pounds from February to June. Anyway the first week and a half were good after surgery then I became really nauseous my sense of smell was so strong I couldn't leave my bedroom without throwing up.
It took weeks before I was better. Tip: make sure you get nausea medicine when you are discharged.
By August 1st I was back to work and 325 pounds. I have continued to eat as taught in the classes and today, December 5, I am 285 pounds. I found this site because I wanted to help anyone who is considering this type of surgery. I will answer any questions.
Thank you.
