  1. That's awesome! You're so close now. I hope everything goes well for you!
  2. I've heard that too. I'm sure we're both in very good hands.
  3. The first seminar I went to was with Cantor and the second was with McArthur. I just asked the scheduler who I could see the soonest. Lol.
  4. Yeah it'll be about a year for me as well. I chose Dr McArthur.
  5. After six months of classes, nutrition visits, and completing all the other requirements I found out today that I've been approved for the surgery! Later on I got a phone call from the surgeon's office to schedule my consultation. I can't even begin to describe how happy I am right now!
  6. Yeah it kinda does seem long, but at least it won't be as bad as the six month program. I'm hoping October.
  7. The surgeon's office called a little bit ago to schedule my consultation. I'm going on September 14th!
  8. Yes we should. I'm happy for you too. No one has called me yet. Hopefully we'll both get a call tomorrow or next week some time. Maybe we'll have our surgeries close together since it looks like we got approved at the same time and they only go over fifteen cases at a time.
  9. I haven't heard anything, but just saw on kp.org that my PCP put in a referral two days ago to go to Holy Cross to meet the surgeon and it was authorized! So it looks like I've been approved as well! I'm so happy right now. It all feels so much more real.
  10. Yeah I know the feeling! I'm glad to almost be done with the program. I was thinking we've probably been to some of the same meetings too. Hopefully we'll both get approved. I'll let you know when I find out something.
  11. My last Nutritionist appointment is July 7 and then I'll be done. I also go to the Woodbridge location. Maybe we'll get approved at the same time since the committee only meets every so often.
  12. I will be done with my six month program through Kaiser Permanente next month and wanted to know if anyone has been to Dr. Cantor at Holy Cross. If so, how long did you have to wait until you had the surgery after first meeting him? Thanks!
  13. Hi all. I'll be covered for the surgery through Kaiser Permanente starting in January and wanted to know of good surgeons in the Northern Virginia area that are within Network? Thank you!
  14. Thank you all for your answers. heynowkc, is your insurance through work or private?
  15. I'm currently looking for an insurance plan that'll cover the bariatric surgery in Virginia. The only one I'm having any luck with is Anthem BCBS. Their website says they exclude it, but I was told in order to get the surgery I would have to get a rider. Does anyone on here know of other insurances in Virginia (other than Aetna, not covered in my area) that'll cover the surgery or can tell me your experience with Anthem in what you had to do or how much your rider was. Thank you.
