  1. Day 3 of renewing my commitment to the Lap Band program! I know that the food obsession is not out of hunger or necessity. Doing my best to just take care of today!

Irritating as it is, there is something to be said for the "one day at a time" approach.

  2. I was banded in 2007. Long story but didn't stick with the program for more than 12 months. Ready to commit to change, but I need help and support! Would love to connect!!!

Get back into your surgery practice if you've been hiding out from them. You probably need an esophagram. Also attend support groups! BP is fine, too, but in-person talks mean so much. (I've been messing around, too, and will call my surgeon's.)

welcome back - do you remember all the necessary rules - water, protein etc?

will insurance cover you to see a NUT? or can you go on your own?? - back to work dude - drink protein shakes for awhile, that will give you a jump start to loosing weight - can be hard to reach out for help - you did it - work hard -this time stay committed!!! i know you can do this - good luck - kathy

Thank you so much for the support!!! Day 3 back on a lap band diet. Going well. I also started an exercise program in September (21 Day Fix) and have a coach. Working on doing this 100% this time. :-)

  3. OK...so I am newer to the forum, and still wading around to learn as much as possible. You asked for a guy's perspective - looks great! I know this thread is a little older, so have you had any more surgery? It is truly inspiring to see all of the stories and I particularly like seeing before and after pics. I have lost 112 pounds now, and I am very likely going to be contemplating plastic surgery.
  4. Congratulations! I had my family with me until they were kicked out. My surgery was at 12:30; in recovery about 3PM. My wife stayed in my room with me until about 8pm. I had a couple visitors, but for the most part the dilaudid pretty well kept me loopy and not very social. I was home the next day about 3:30. I would say having family around at home was more important than in the hospital, but it was nice to have some visitors. Good luck! I was pretty good about following the pre-op instructions, and I highly encourage the same. I think it has made my recovery that much easier.
  5. My first post here. I was banded on 12/14/07 by Dr. Haughn in Evansville, IN. The surgery went great (about 2.5 hours), and my recovery has gone smoothly. I have my first weigh-in on Jan. 4, so need less to say, I am excited about next Friday! Looking forward to learning more on this site!
