    Why the sleeve?

@@zonetracy I am in the Portland area! I'll send you a PM. :-)

    Portland, OR

Dr. Patterson was my surgeon and I had a very positive experience. Did you end up choosing somebody?

    Why the sleeve?

And I chose VSG because of the reasons mentioned above. I have a history of GI issues, so I really didn't want my intestines touched at all. I knew the weight loss would be a bit slower than with bypass, but that was okay with me.

    Why the sleeve?

@@zonetracy Dr. Patterson was my surgeon as well. I really liked her and have loved the office and staff. I had my VSG in December. :-)

    Isopure Disgusting!

I'm glad I read this! I have been back and forth on buying it, and was recently comparing prices online. I have been doing Biochem natural flavor whey isolate powder and it's not bad at all. I mix 2 scoops (40g of protein) with unsweetened coconut milk and a little ice in the blender. No problems at all with that and I have a very weak stomach. If you do as well, never, ever, ever, ever try Pea Protein. Worst. Thing. Ever.
  6. Hello! I have been lurking here for a few months and finally joined. I have my VSG scheduled for a week from today 12/3, and I am so incredibly nervous that I am really not sleeping. I am so scared of having a fatal complication during or after the surgery. I have never spent the night away from my youngest and I am nervous about that too. My question is, does anybody have any opinions about outpatient vs inpatient surgery? My surgery is scheduled at an outpatient center and apparently it is "outpatient" because they keep you for 23 hours and not 24? Reading through the forum, I am seeing a lot of people had stays of 3+ nights, so I am worried that my care will be compromised by having only the one night. I do not have any comorbidities, other than being on the low end of moderate sleep apnea. My surgeon required me to get a CPAP and I need to use that during surgery because she says it helps when coming out of anesthesia. At any rate, just saying hello and that I am a nervous wreck. :-)

    Outpatient vs. Inpatient?

I think I'll be okay the day off because adrenaline will keep me going, but man alive these days before are tough!

    So worn & discouraged

That sounds incredibly frustrating, especially the going back and forth on the pre-op diet. I feel like the only way I'm making it through it is knowing there is an end in sight. I have no words of wisdom, just wanted to say that I hear you and am sorry things are not going smoothly so far!

    7. more. days!

Me three! 12/3. So soon! I am a little bit scared about sneaking bites tomorrow while I'm cooking, honestly. I still need to lose 5 more pounds before surgery!
  10. Puberty and PCOS started things, drinking and partying and stuffing feelings during my teens-20s added onto it and then pregnancy followed by an autoimmune disease and 2 years of steroids to treat it put the nail in the coffin.

    Outpatient vs. Inpatient?

Thank you for the replies! I hadn't thought of the bonus of no sick person germs! Everybody is this nervous the week before surgery, right? :-)
