  1. Yeah I used to love the strawberry premade ones. And now I hate them, I've yet to find a Protein Drink I like. So I just make sure I get the protein in with the other foods throughout the day. I haven't tried the unflavored powder yet.
  2. Eh idk if Iike that stuff but I could try it! Thanks
  3. I'm on Prilosec. It helps with the acid but not the hunger. Lol
  4. Mine was the day after surgery. Before you're allowed to drink anything
  5. Hello, So my surgery was 9 days ago and it went really well. I'm on the full liquid diet until dec. 8. Problem. I'm hungry all the time! My stomach is telling me to eat. I feel like I never even had the surgery lol. Is this normal? Any way to help it?
  6. Hey yall so my surgery was nov 19. I had cold feet going in, I wanted to jump off of the operating table when the nurse put in my IV! I started regretting my decision and feeling so guilty about putting myself through a voluntary surgery. The nurse could tell how nervous I was, and she gave me some medicine that made me laugh at everything and I felt great haha. That was the last thing I remember before waking up in the recovery room. I got to see my mom and other family who were there with me. I woke up in no pain at all, quickly after I got up to go pee and walk around the hallways. The compression things they put on my calves annoyed me, so I kept walking and sitting in chairs so I didn't have to wear them The next day, I was able to sip 24 ounces of Water with sugar free crystal light. Slowly, one oz every 10 minutes. After every 6 ounces I would take a walk down the hall. The only time I was in pain was when I would try to get up from sitting/laying. But it wasn't bad. Since I was doing so well, I was able to go home that night instead of the next morning The clear phase of the liquid diet for a week after the surgery was hard. It sucked. I got so sick of Jello and broth lol. But now that I'm on full liquids and I can have Soup and milk, I'm SO happy. Haha. I'm doing great and getting my Protein in without a problem. With a 10 day pre op liquid diet until now, I've lost about 30 pounds. Some old jeans already fit, my scars are almost healed, and I'm so excited for what's to come! if anyone has any questions or advice to give, feel free! I've included before and after pics so far as well
  7. I was lucky, my insurance covered it really fast. I went in for an informational seminar and the surgery was only a few weeks later!! Good luck
  8. There's also about a 10 minute warm up and cool down before doing those exercises. You can chose from jumping jacks, mountain climbers, etc. to get your heart rate up.
  9. I have no extra skin at all right now, but I've only lost 30 pounds so far. My doctor gave me a work out regimen to follow though. I can't start it until I get an okay from the doctor, which will probably be in a week or so. It consists of: planks, squats, step ups, push ups, resistance band training (shoulder press and standing row). In a circuit form for about 40 minutes 3-4 times a week. Doing these while holding 5-10 pound weights. There's a much greater focus on weight training than cardio. Building muscle to take up the extra space from losing the fat is key
  10. I had my sleeve 9 days ago, and I feel amazing. It's like it never happened The day of the surgery I was a nervous wreck, I literally wanted to jump off of the operating table after the nurse put my IV in. But once I woke up from the surgery, I was just tired. Not much pain except for when I would try to sit up or stand up (using stomach muscles hurt) The next day I was able to SLOWLY drink about 24 oz of Water mixed with sugar free crystal light. I had to drink 1 oz every 10 minutes. After every 6 oz I had to take a walk around my floor of the hospital. I moved slowly but it was fine I wasn't supposed to go home until day 3, but I was doing so well, I went home on day 2 in the evening the next day at home I was in pain and tired, probably because the meds the doc had me on weren't in my system anymore. By day 4 I went shopping at walmart and was doing much better. All in all, I'm very happy that I had the surgery. I've lost almost 30 pounds all together so far, I fit into some old jeans, and I feel amazing.
  11. I've been feeling a LOT better already. Walking around definitely helps. It's much easier to sip plain water than the protein juice, so I've been alternating these throughout the day. I only got about 8 ounces in total yesterday though. Hopefully today will be a lot easier, I feel like it will be! I'm not feeling like I need the pain meds right now, so I'm going to hold off and see how long I can go without taking them. As soon as I take it I just fall asleep. Lol.
  12. The Prilosec- I have to take it apart and pour the granules into a little cup with water and applesauce and take it like a shot. lol
  13. Yes the walking does help a lot! I'm glad we are in similar situations thank you
  14. I live on campus at my school, so I wouldn't have to drive. Just walk for about 5 minutes to get to class. I'm worried about sitting in the desk though, I don't want it to rub on the part of my tummy that hurts!
  15. My doctor said I should be fine by Monday so I took his advice. But I'm not so sure!
  16. Yes I just started the Prilosec this morning. It has helped with the burning a lot, but the burping is still constant. Even when just sipping water
  17. Hey! So I'm 21 years old. My sleeve surgery was 2 days ago, I did really well in the hospital. No nausea, I drank a lot yesterday, so they let me go home from the hospital a day early Now though, I'm at home, with much weaker meds, and it hurts. The bottom of my stomach under my belly button hurts a lot. Also I have a strong burning sensation from my stomach going up my chest in the middle. Also, I can barely drink anything. I'm having a hard time just getting down one 8oz serving. I keep burping it up, no vomiting though. Is this normal? When will the pain get better? I'm a college student so I really need to go back to school on Monday, but at this rate, I don't know if that will happen!! Any advice would be awesome Thank you!
