  1. Congratulations and good luck!
  2. I have permanent stomach issues after taking diet pills, specifically, phendimetrazine. I was on them for just about 2 years. I wouldn't take them again.
  3. I live on the east coast of fl, about an hour and a half south of Daytona. I'll be sending positive thoughts your way that you get your surgery this year. I'm trying to stay positive that I'll get mine. If not, it wasn't meant to be but I am definitely pushing for it. My surgeon is going to be doing surgeries right after Christmas up until dec 31 to get as many patients in as he can because so many people are in the same situation as we are.
  4. Good luck in getting your surgery this year! I am in the same boat, I NEED it done this year because I have met my out of pocket expenses and wasn't expecting to have to pay $1000s more to wait until next year. I spoke with probably 5 different people at my surgeons office making sure everyone knows how critical it is I get my date before end of the year. I hate to be a pain in the butt, however, I'll do what I have to in order to get what I need. and you should too! Good luck to you!!
  5. I'm in FL too! The summer heat (9months of the year) is brutal. Not to mention the humidity that goes along with it. Lol can't wait to get back to the beach and enjoying the outdoors instead of hiding from it. Good luck to you!
  6. Congratulations and best of luck!!
  7. Congratulations I don't have any kids yet, glad your husband will be home to help out! Best of luck, I hope I get my surgery date soon. I thought about taking pics too. Maybe in a certain outfit that is tight now, or jeans that fit you comfortably. Naked pics if you're brave! Or maybe in undies.
  8. Hope everything went well and you were able to have your surgery!
  9. Oh no that's terrible can you call the office and explain to them that you usually gain 5ish lbs around TOM? It would be terrible for them to deny you based on that. Last visit I had with the PA at my surgeons office I had TOM and told her I was up 5 lbs. she just gave me the stank eye, like I was lying about it. Most of the staff is understanding at my surgeons office but she wasn't. At my next appt I was down 13 lbs and she said wow, that's a lot of weight in 2 weeks - and I said to her, it helped that I lost an additional 5 lbs of bloating from my cycle! She just laughed.
  10. I use Jay Robb protein if anyone is interested in a protein mix that doesn't contain artificial sweeteners. I'm allergic to splenda (sucralose) and sugar alcohols. Just in case anyone else is sensitive or allergic as well. sweetened with stevia and the best tasting I've found.
  11. Good luck to you I hope you get your December date. I'm in a pinch to get my surgery before end of the year. I've already met my deductible and out-of-pocket expense for the year and I don't want to have to do it again next year so that's why am pushing for surgery in December. Good to hear your gallbladder surgery won't affect your December gastric bypass surgery. How long is recovery for that? I just had a flareup of calcific tendinitis in my left shoulder, can't move my left arm at all and I'm starting physical therapy tomorrow. I'm hoping that I'll be able to have full range again before my surgery. I've been navigating this forum A little bit but due to the shoulder thing I can't read through as many topics as I'd like. Also typing with one hand is a little difficult lol
  12. My 14 day preop diet is 3 meal replacement shakes a day with 3 zero calorie snacks. I had to do a lot of research to find shakes and vitamins that don't contain artificial sweeteners because I'm allergic. Anyone else have artificial sweetener allergies? In particular Splenda and sugar alcohols.
  13. I had the same thing happen to me. I wanted to be the one to tell people on my terms. My husband ended up spilling the beans to my in-laws, Who I don't even get along with. Part of that reason is because they can't keep their mouths shut and talk about everyone's problems behind their back. I cried about it and was very upset with my husband because I told him that those were the only two people I didn't want to tell. Which I made very clear before he even told them. And if I ever decided to tell them I wanted to be the one to do it. I'm over it now but it was very upsetting. My grandmother told me that they're going to talk about me no matter what so just to let it roll off my shoulders.
  14. I'm hopefully submitting to insurance this Friday. I have Cigna, does anyone know turnaround time for them? And also does it help to call them every couple days to see if my claim has been approved?
  15. I'm hoping for December surgery date. I submit to insurance this Friday! Do you have a date yet? I'm also be where, just joined today.
