  1. Doha, Qatar has three places that do fills, Hamad Hospital (Govt hospital), Al Emadi Hospital and Al Ahli Hospital. Prices vary.
  2. I had my surgery done in Qatar and it cost close to 5,000USD. Overall a favorable experience so far. Good-luck!
  3. I had my lap band done on the 15th of July and I had similar pain but it is now gone. Just hang in there. In regards to eating I made my own homemade tomatoe soup with canned tomatoes ( made sure the seeds were not included) and mixed garlic a bit of onion and celery and sauteed in pain with only oil spray. Mixed chicken broth and low fat powder milk until ingredients tender. Pureed in blender. I figured since my Doc said I could have V-8 juice tomato soup would be okay. Good-luck!
  4. I just two weeks out post surgery for banding in Doha, Qatar. It was a very painful experience post surgery as they do not use Morphine, Demerol or Fentanyl for pain. They only use drugs from the Panadol (Tylenol) family. Not very effective in fighting pain. I had nausea post surgery and since I am a nurse I knew to ask for anti-nausea medication and I had to insist otherwise I don't think they would have given it to me. Just a warning, the anethesiologist is lousy at Al Emadi hospital. She is a woman, who managed to chip my two front teeth, and I had sores in my mouth where she did protect my tongue properly while I was intubated. I also had a bad throat infection post surgery. Not sure if this was due to intubation or not. I complained to the Doctor (who is fab). Good-news lost 14 pounds so far.
  5. Good luck Fatmata on your surgery. Keep me posted on how your are doing.
  6. I am going in on Tuesday for my lap-band and I am excited and nervous since I have to trust the medical facilities here and sometimes they are not as good as the ones in America or Europe. It is great to have this site as support. Hulahand:w00t:
