  1. It really depends on the type of work you do. I work in my home on the phones so I did a little work when I got home from surgery and went back full time the day after. Some may think I'm cheating since I can work in my PJs but I think if you have sick time that will go away with the new year, take a week and relax. It is major surgery.
  2. Here is Sisco's brother Verb inside the bag his gift came in:
  3. Here is one of my boys and his well worn Yuletime friend:

I too was born at the old Corsicana Hospital. It is long gone now. If you had said not Ferris I would have guessed Fairfield. It's the small town girl in me!

That would be Ferris? I have paid a traffic ticket or 2 there! I'm from Corsicana.

MyKds - If you don't mind, what itty bitty town is that? I may surprise you with where I'm from.

I think you sound like one of my cousins, a good ole boy from the South!
  8. I used to get the "sigh" preband and I would keep eating even though I knew I was full. That doesn't happen anymore. When I have that sigh, I stop. The burping gives me the illusion of having more room so I try to ignore it.

Sounds like MsJoy will be the first of the day. I went to Medical City Dallas and was in by 6:15a, surgery at 7:15 and I was home by 1p. Good deal!
  10. I got my first fill yesterday and it has renewed my faith in the Band. It was a short process and felt really weird. All I can think is, if they can close off my stomach all the way, then I can get the restriction I need. I was unpleasant trying to find my port but once it was filling I was amazed. I had been down since the scale has not moved in 2 weeks. Well, last night I could eat half a cup of Soup and felt my sleeping pill go down. This is the restriction I have been hearing about. I now know what everyone was talking about. I'm excited and can't wait for the pounds to drop off. I'll let you know!

Just got back from a fill with Dr Jay and he is great. He sat and talked about everything before we started, explained how and why things are done and never made me feel silly. He's a cool cat!
  12. As far as Advil, I was told it's a no no and I spent too much money on the band to screw it up. Of course I didn't believe about sodas and tried one with really painful results. My doctor said more than pain, sodas can puff up your top pouch and make it bigger. Again, I spent too much money to have to start over. I will learn.
  13. Oh 2 Be Free - It's a dirty job, but somebody has to do it! I'll pick you up at the airport and make sure to eat your Wheaties. It's tough work!
  14. I book appointments for local escorts in the Dallas area. I'm the voice, they are the body. Works for me cause I get to stay home and work in my PJs!
  15. All of my bosses are hot chicks. I guess since they are escorts they would have to be. I would post pictures here but they are WAY to naked!
  16. If you have the time, I vote yes on calling them every 5 minutes. If they ask why you keep calling tell them you are trying to catch the person you need and then when they take the message, let them know you will try back ion five minutes. After a couple of hours of this you may find satisfaction. Another thought is to pose as a new client and see if they give you to the person you need. If you have a different number or cell, leave that number and you may get a call back. I love a good ambush. I think you can let your inner bitch out in this situation with out a whole lot of guilt. I'm behind you and hope you get through to them!
  17. I have two boys, Sisco, my black dog and his brother, Verb the kitty. They are my family. I never flinch when asked if I have children, support or whatever. They are it. Right now I have a wonderful man in my life but people can come and go so fast. My boys are always with me and they come first. Don't let anyone make you think you need more than you have. If you are happy and your kitty gives you strength and love, good for you! My boys are spoiled rotten and I wouldn't have it any other way. The more people I meet, the more I like my dog!
  18. I'm not a smoker but I family that smokes. My uncle had the GB and had to quit smoking or the doctor would not operate on him. He was told that smoking causes problems when trying to heal. It can make the healing process take longer. I'm not sayingf it's a medical fact but that's what he was told.
  19. Thanks for the quick info. I just placed my order at Blair.com. You guys rock!
  20. I am going to Rapid City, SD for Yule and since I'm a Texas girl, I have no winter coat. I am having a really hard time finding one in the city and everything I find online is for fashion, not cold. Anyone out there know where I can buy a winter coat to withstand the cold nights in South Dakota? I'm a size 3X, but not for long! Thanks for the help.
  21. I was one of the lucky ones who didn't have much gas pain. I took GasX once in a while just in case but never had any trouble. The painkiller, Lortab, did not work on me. My pain would kinda come and go from time to time. Heating pad helped and I would massage my tummy. I didn't sleep much because I couldn't get comfortable. That lasted about a week or two. The unexpected pain came from being tubed during the surgery. My thoart was very sore and I sounded like crap for a couple of days. I had surgery on Wednesday and worked again on Thursday night. I work from home and have a phone job so I may be cheating by saying I "went" to work.
  22. I'm a big fan of Sam's Town. They seem much nicer there than other casinos in town. It's very laid back.
  23. Thanks gang! I am about to eat now and I will go very slow and try to pay attention to the little signal of STOP! Let's see how it goes today.
  24. I know that my opinion here is not a popular one. I went with the lapband because that is what Medicare would pay for. If they would have covered the GB I would have had it. Several of my family members have had great success with GB and I'm the first Lapband person. I am embracing the Lapband and will do my part to it work. There is no other answer for me now and I will be a success.
