WATER Drinking Game To Get Yourself to DRINK!
One thing that has helped me, in the past, is to put rubberbands on my water bottle. I start with 5 on the top and as i drink a bottle I move one to the bottom. Once all five are on the bottom I know that I have gotten in all of my water. :w00t:

How many fills??
Hello all, I was banded 7/2/08 and since then I have had 2 - 2cc fills. My weightloss is not what I would like it to be 6 months in so I was wondering how many fills have other people had? Along with that, how much have you lost?? Just looking for some reassurance.

What have YOU lost?
I've lost a 2 year old. Thanks this makes me a little less discouraged about my sssslllloooowwww weight loss. Especially since the bulk of it was during my pre-op diet.

I'm just so hungry.
Zillyanne, I know how you are feeling. I went/am going through the same thing. I was banded on 7/2 and soon after that was how I felt, in fact that was my big fear prior to the surgery. I feel like it is getting better but I'm sure it will take a while before I'm 100%. If you need to talk about it I'm here just message me.

Having to sit up to sleep...
I was banded on 7/2 and while I was able to lie down to sleep - getting up was a chore but I found that the pain where my port was lasted for about a week and a half then I realized that it just wasn't hurting anymore. I was able to get up and down with a little more ease around the same time. Good Luck.

confused
Jenny that is my question as well. I hope someone can help. I think it will be a pain in the but if we have to re-paste it every time.

Lap band surgery date set
Hi Stacy, Congratulations!!! I can only tell you about my experience but it may help a little. I am not sure how long the surgery took because I was waiting in the hallway forever (or so it seemed) and they knocked me out before bringing me in. I was in recovery for a while after (no rooms open) and while i was there I was up and going to the bathroom independently. I was very sore and had waves of nausea which lasted to the next day but by the time i left the following morning it was gone. I did have some gas pain in my chest which went to my back luckly i did not have it in my shoulder. Walking and gasx strips helped. But within like 3 days the gas was gone. I did have pain where the port was but that stopped after about a week and a half. Now i don't feel it and I am just waiting for the incisions to heal. I had my surgery on 7/2 and I wish you the best of luck. If you have any questions let me know and i will try to answer them.

I'd love to go, it just depends upon timing and if I can get off of work. Other than that count me in.

Any Long Islanders?
I feel so left out it seems like this is the Dr. Geiss sight. lol I was banded by Dr. Mehta in Patchogue and she was fantastic. It is just great to hear about the success that local people have had. It's funny because once you tell someone you have been banded they always say "I know someone who did that." It's great to see how many of us there are. :biggrin2:

Unhappy
Hi Eyrica, I am sorry to hear that you are feeling this way but I want to tell you, you are not alone. Although I don't have the allergies that you do I have had the same feelings that you have. I was banded on the 2nd and in the days since I have thought to myself "what did I do?" It has been a huge adjustment that (a week and a half later) I am still trying to get used to. I just want to be able to eat something not just drink Soup and gross protien shakes. I want to be able to chew lol. It is getting better though and I am sure in time you will feel better as well. Just hang in there and let me know if you need anything.

July Bandsters...how much have you lost since surgery??
I was banded on July 2nd as well and when I went to the doctor the following Thursday (the 10th) I had only lost 2 lbs. I think this is normal. We are doing nothing but drinking so aside from still being bloated from the surgery we can also be retaining water. I think we will start to see bigger differences as we move along.

Newbie in every way
Good luck. I hope all of your approvals go through.

Newbie in every way
Lisa, I agree! You didn't have to have blood work and I've been poked and prodded so many times I'm like a strainer now lol. Consistency would be a good thing.

JULY 2 I was banded
J80 - I'm not sure where that pain may be coming from. Mine was in my chest and my back, it hurt to take a deep breath and was a sharp pain right in the center, it started to go away yesterday and is much better today. If it continues I would put a call into your doctor. Lee - I teach children with Autism (2 & 3 year olds) so it can be very physical and demanding but I have a great staff who are very supportive so they are going to help me when I need it. I will put myself with "less physically demanding" students for the week. Hopefully that will help. Thank goodness for rolling desk chairs I don't think I would be able to spend the day sitting in a little tikes chair like I normally do lol. I love the work that I do but I just don't want to go back, maybe I'll retire haha. How about you?
