I was sleeved on Thursday, Nov 20...so I'm at day 8 post op....I really really really want a pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks.... Can I? Have any of you tried to have something similar so soon?

If I ever refer anyone it would be there....I had Dr.Curiel at Clinica San Juan...great doctor and nurses, but I think i suffered a lot of unnecessary pain...I think I would have had a better postoperative experience somewhere else. Like a hospital vs a clinic. But thank God it's all over...just trying to stay strong while I get pains...

I was sleeved on the 20th....still in pain...some vomiting...nausea...gas pain....I'm miserable right now...

I sure wish I had known about the ability to remove the gas before you get stitched up!!! What doc and where in Mexico did you go?

It will get better! Hang in there! I'm 6 days post-op and still in quite a bit of pain. I actually regretted doing this up until yesterday when my pain started to decrease a little. When I'm in pain, I just try to picture myself skinny and my anxiety actually decreases. :-) Oh and I'm still feeling hungry all the time...I'm not sure if it's just in my head or if I'm really still hungry all the time. :-( I'm sick of the liquid diet already. But...I'm gonna be skinny, I'm gonna be skinny, I'm gonna be skinny.... ????

I didn't tell...I had sleeve last Thursday, Nov 20th and I came back to work today! Just a little discomfort...I find it's best than being at home thinking of food. Thank God for office/desk jobs!

I was sleeved yesterday....the first day was a nightmare (pain wise), but I've improved a lot in just one day. Still recovering in Tijuana....so far so good...

Hey y'all...im in bed now, pre-op blood work and tests being done. My doc found that I was anemic and really scolded me about it. He threatened not to do my surgery. After making me cry and panic, he finally came back to say everything was ok and I could have surgery today. Needless to say, if I had known that would be an issue, I would gave made sure I was taking my Iron as my regular doctor had advised. I just figured i was better and just stopped taking it. I guess I just want to alert everyone to do your best to get as healthy as possible before surgery so that you can have it done. For me, I traveled from Texas to San Diego, and I'm now in Tijuana to have my surgery. I would have been devastated if my surgery was cancelled, but I also would rather live than to have any fatal consequences. Take care of yourselves! Be healthy and listen to your doctors always! :-( Hard lesson learned today....

Hi Nurse Ison....I'm having sleeve surgery in Tijuana on Thursday. I'm having it with Dr. Curiel at Clinica San Juan. I went through Medical Tourism LLC for the price of $3950. I'll let you know how it goes! I'm nervous, but at the point of no return! ????????

You know, I didn't even think about that before I scheduled mine. I'm having mine in Thursday 20th, then going back to work on Mon & Tues, then I'll be off for a week. I hope I can make it!! And I'm not telling anyone anything for now. Not sure of I will.

Hi kymmie...yes, you must quit or your surgery will be cancelled... They will test your urine for nicotine. Smoking can cause problems with anesthesia and put you at greater risk for breathing problems, even pneumonia after your surgery... It's really important! So try to stay strong! Who cares how much you gain, you'll be looking fabulous in no time at all! Good luck!!! ????

I'm going in a couple of weeks too - I'm scared to death too! Prayers for both of us! I'm going to Dr. Curiel in Tijuana Mexico - so I'm double scared!!!

I'm scheduled for surgery with Dr. Curiel in Tijuana in a couple weeks. Has anyone used him? I'm paying $3,950 (plus travel cost from Texas to San Diego).
