  1. I'm in the Healthcare field and am out for 6 weeks. I had a hiatal hernia repair and liver mass removal during my VSG so the added time off has been a blessing in disguise. Hopefully you'll be up and feeling good. Just be kind to your new tummy and take it easy. Sleep when you can. I'm sure you'll make it work. Good luck
  2. I had a hiatal hernia repair with my VSG and struggled with shoulder pain for around 2 weeks. Even now, 4 weeks out I have shoulder pain if I drink too fast. My advice is to keep on top of your pain meds. Take anti nauseous medication and rest. Let your body heal. The weight will come off. I'm 4 weeks out today and am down 38 lbs.

  4. Just a suggestion but your blender is your friend. I have a ninja and it's a blessing. Take some turkey and gravy and pulse it. Add some mashed sweet potato (less of a glycemic hit) and pulse some green beans. Unsweetened applesauce for dessert. Whalah! Thanksgiving Ala puree. Two bites of each and you'll be stuffed.
  5. The staples in your tummy are made of titanium. They won't set off metal detectors. X-rays will pick them up. But no pat downs.

  7. I was sleeved 9/15 and have been struggling with both fluids and protein. I've started the isopure zero carb drinks from GNC. Not bad flavor, more like gatorade. 160 calories and 42 g of protein in 20 oz. Fluids and protein. BONUS!! Keeps me from having to get IV fluids.
