I'm finally going to be banded in a couple weeks!! I'm currently doing the pre op diet and with a little help from the Lord will meet my 10% weight loss requirement. Any advice help, or how much you all lost during pre op diet would be great

I'm 2 months post op, today I got my 3rd fill. I have a 10cc band today I got a 3cc fill,which brings me to 6cc. Can anyone help me with what I could eat at this point. I'm so afraid to try anything because I fear it will get stuck. Any tips and advice would be great. Also, I really feel this fill. Do you think it will relax any?

I need some advice. I called my insurance bcbs il and was told they saw no requirement for 6 months of documented diet (my bmi is 45). Has anyone been approved recently(2014) and if so did you have to do the 6 month diet first? Also when you paid your out of pocket did you have to pay the surgeon or physician? Sorry for the questions I'm new to this and anxiously trying to get my doc appointments in ☺

My 10% is 26 pounds and she is determined that I can loose that much. I'm having a hard time, 12 more days to go! I'm very excited too Barb. I hope and pray the next 12 days go by very quickly.

So I'm stressing! Just found out my cardiologist requires stress test to clear his patients for lap band its a 2 week process. My appointment is Oct 30.I have to have the lap band surgery done before the end of the year. I have BCBS Il and I'm flipping out thinking I'm not going to be approved in time... Anyone have words of hope

Well that's what I was originally told. I spoke with the doctor as I had my appointment and he said I wouldn't have to come back for follow up appointments and he would just send the letter to my doc if everything is ok. I have my stress test tomorrow and echo, I'm crossing my fingers everything works out quickly so I can have the surgery as planned ???? sorry I have been forever replying this. Thanks for your response.

For those of you waiting to schedule the lap band surgery... How are you dealing with the anxiousness of it all? Ill more than likely be banned middle December just waiting on insurance approval. Good grief though I feel like im about to burst! Im so anxious and ready to start this journey and get my life back

Thanks so much for your response. I finish up my appointments (psych,dietician, pulmonology and cardiology) the 30th. So glad to hear you didn't have to do the 6 month diet. I was getting worried after reading about other BCBS holders that got denied because of it... Im just so ready to get this done!

Hey all, I am currently finishing up my last couple doctor appointments and am curious as to,how long my insurance will take to give approval once documentation is submitted. Can any one that has BCBS share how long their approval took? I am hoping to have my band in by Christmas, but I've been told BCBS takes 60,days.

It's definitely a waiting game. I'm so excited. I hope I get to have mine in December as this is my Christmas present from my great mother. I just can't wait to have my confidence and self esteem
