  1. Ugh, I just found out we are having an ice cream social on Wednesday in our office. That just figures. Please give me strength!
  2. When you are typing a reply, there is a little camera pic. I just clicked on that and took a pic of it.
  3. Yes, I get to eat food. . here is a pic of my 'diet' I have to follow.
  4. My surgery is on 10/29. The pre-op diet is basically a high protein/low carb diet. 80 grams of protein and no more than 60 grams of carbs per day.
  5. Today is the first day of my pre-op diet! I also went and got my chest X-ray and blood work done this morning. They took 9 vials of blood! The vampires were out today!
  6. Good luck today!!!
  7. I hope you start feeling better very soon!
  8. You guys are too kind! Thank you.

  10. Here is a picture of me on my birthday this past June. I hate this picture. I look huge. I look at it and wonder who this fat, unhealthy, miserable person is. I can't wait for my new healthy, thin, active life!!
  11. So, I am starting my low carb/high protein pre-op diet tomorrow. On my instructions, it says I can have margarine. What margarine do you all use?

  13. Just got back from the store and picked up a few 'little' things for after surgery

  15. Do we need sippy cups after surgery?
  16. 'I will be a different person. The one I used to be'. I really like that. I haven't been overweight all my life. I was in fact underweight growing up. It started creeping up on me about 10 or so years ago. I have asthma, and every time they put me on Prednisone I would gain 20 pounds. And I was on Prednisone a lot. Then there are the 2 hysterectomies. Yes I said 2! The first one was 7 years ago. They only removed my uterus and cervix. I was under 40 and they didn't want to force me into menopause. Well, 3 years later, they found an ovarian cyst the size of a football. So, I had my 2nd hysterectomy to remove the cyst and everything else. My doctor said 'I guess we should have removed everything the last time'. Really??? I was not happy. Well, next thing I knew I was 270 pounds. Sad, depressed, frustrated. I want the old me back. Sorry for the long and TMI post. 18 more days and I will be closer to that healthy and skinny person that is under this fat suit!
  17. Thank you tacycakes. I really needed that! I am so ready to be healthier, no more CPap, more energy, less back pain. The food is scaring me a little bit. I am so worried I will screw it up somehow.
  18. Feeling really overwhelmed and emotional tonight. Last weekend before pre-op diet starts and I think the reality of it all is hitting me hard. Still looking forward to my new healthy life and I know this is what I need to do, but for some reason I'm a mess tonight.
  19. Feel better! Goodnight!
  20. Is anyone else doing a sort of food 'funeral'? I feel like since I am starting my pre-op diet on Monday, I am eating things this week that I will either never eat again or won't be able to eat in a long time. Strange...
  21. I was the same way! Really excited and then I got the phone call with my surgery date (10/29) and instant freak out! You are not alone!
