  1. I got my band today???? so far so good, main pain is in my back, lower left side of back just aches, been using a heating pad on it, liquid pain meds are gross, water, juice and broth all going down fine:) glad to join this side????
  2. Whoohoooo!!!!!!! For me the pre op diet sucked for the first 3 days, I felt shakey, had headaches and a little queasy, and a lot grumpy lol, but by day 4 it was so much easier, not sure if it was a drop in blood sugar or what, or maybe I'm not normal....(well I know I'm not normal) lol but either way I'm glad you finally got a date!!!!!
  3. Thank you pink it really does help to hear from people who have already been thru it, I can't help keep looking at the clock, 14 hours to surgery and counting lol
  4. Thank you both so much for responding, one good thing about these nerves, is I have no appetite so food is not an issue at the moment, and I told my hubby that I didn't want any kind of "last meal" because I will eventually be able to eat again, just smaller portions and better choices...most of the time lol I will not have a stay in the hospital, as mine is treated as out patient, I've already filled scripts, and now it's just this big waiting game, and I'm not a patient person lol
  5. I'm right there with you!!!! My surgery is this Friday at 5:45 am, it will take me about an hour and a half to get there, so I'm so not gonna be able to sleep tomorrow night lol!!!!!! I'm really scared of the after pain, but also so excited to finally be done, I'm a big ball of mixed emotions lol
  6. I'm getting very nervous!!!!!! I'm scared of the pain afterward, but I'm so excited to finally be able to be at this point in my journey, any words of wisdom or encouragement are much appreciated!!!!!! ????????????
  7. Patty1957- breakfast is protein shake, lunch is protein shake and dinner is 1 cup fruit, 1 cup veggies, and 6 oz lean meat, I can also eat jello...sugar free of course:) the first 3 days were so bad, I was hungry irritated and just not a happy girl, day 4 was no big deal and today I have no appetite at all, so it gets easier:)
  8. Yeah I went ahead and gave my spot up on the trip, I don't want to over do it and jack something up lol
  9. Forgot to ask, how is recovery time afterward? Exactly one week after my surgery, I am scheduled to go to magic mountain. I am highly involved with the youth program at my church, and this is a church trip with our jr high and senior high, I asked the nurses about it and they said walking around the park will be good for me, but I probably shouldn't ride any rides, I will ask my surgeon on Tuesday when I meet him, for sure ????
  10. My name is Rita, I started my lapband journey on my birthday (April 2) of this year, my insurance wanted 6 months of nutrition classes, so I did those, and now have a surgery date of Oct 3, Minus my family, and a few close friends, I really haven't told anyone that I'm doing this, and when I stumbled upon this app, and reading others posts, I feel safe to put myself out here:) pre op diet sucks but today is day 4 and a lot better then the last 3 days, I have a huge fear of anesthesia, as my dad passed away while he was under, but I'm pushing through all fears and doing something for me, I have a wonderful supportive husband and we have been married almost half my life, and 4 beautiful children ages 17, 13, 6, and 5
  11. I'm using true results as well ( Scottsdale location) sounds like we are on the same track, my first consult was April 2, insurance wanted 6 months of nutrition classes, my last apt was sept 8, my insurance approved last week and I'm scheduled for surgery on oct 3, I'm using Dr. Nirmal, and will meet him Tuesday
  12. From my understanding, the pre op diet is to shrink your liver for surgery, and to take the fat of the liver, every doctor does their own pre op diet, but it's usually one to two weeks before surgery date, for example my pre op diet ( which I'm currently on) is a protein shake for breakfast, another one for lunch and one cup veggies, one cup fruit and 6 oz of lean meat for dinner, I can also snack on sugar free jello and sugar free Popsicles. I'm currently on day four, and my surgery is scheduled for Friday oct 3 ???? first 3 days were super hard, but today was much easier:)
