New to lap band...,concerned...
I got my band on Oct 3, the first 3 days, I was in pain but on good pain meds, by day 4, I stopped narcotics, and I had severe port pulling/pain, by day 6 or 7I posted on here, wondering if pain is normal, and a few people experienced the pulling feeling. But today day 9, although I still have pulling pain, I do feel better, and even went to church today:)

Band tomorrow morning - 10/13/14
Driving yourself? Is it a hospital stay? Mine was outpatient so I had to have someone with me, don't be nervous, I was so scared of the pain afterwards, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, remember to walk and take your meds:) good luck on the beginning of your journey ????

Port site pain????
I wish I could text my surgeon!!!!! I am seeing mine on Tuesday, so as long as nothing gets worse, I'm gonna hold off till then, today it seems less sore, so maybe just part of the healing process, I'm hoping. I have a high fear of being put under, so it was a huge step that I even got the lapband to begin with, so the thought of something going wrong, and having to be put under again, is just a big fear.

Port site pain????
I am 9 days post op, the port site ( at least I'm guessing it's the port site, it's just a little left of biggest incision, which is just to the left and a little up from my belly button) has been painful sense day of surgery, but over the last 2 days, when I stand, it's like a pulling pain sensation. It's also really hard and I can feel a knobby knot, but if I gently massage it, and walk it goes back to soft. Also over the last 2 days a small bruise has formed right where this pain is, I bruise easily and was surprised I had no bruising after surgery but this seems odd that it just popped up and it kinda looks like the color of an old bruise. I have my follow up on Tuesday, was just wondering if anyone experienced this after surgery, when I look online, I see all these stories of ports flipping and all it does is scare me????

Say no to Lap-Band video
I too watched that video, and she says so many things that contradict themselves, you can't complain you had problems after you continued to overeat and do things your warned against, and then blame the band!!!!!!! In this particular video, I feel it was the person, not the band that was the problem. I still chose to get banded, I'm only 1 week post op, so I can't say it's wonderful....yet!!!! But I sure am looking forward to the future!!!!!!!!!

Banded yesterday????
Yes it was a hiatal hernia, he said it was a small one, and he repaired it, I still have a lot of tenderness to left of the port incision, I go back to my Drs for a checkup on Monday, so hopefully all is well????

My doctor says that gastric banding is a waste of time.
I think with any wls, there are pros and cons, for the people saying you need one over the other because you have no self control, can you explain it further please, I mean with the sleeve, it is possible to constantly overeat, and re stretch your stomach, same with bypass, if you overeat with the band, it causes pouches and slippage. My opinion...and this is just my opinion, you will have to learn some self control, no matter what surgery type you decide on, do your homework, look up pros and cons on all of them from a negative side and a positive side, then decide with your dr what's best for you:)

Last day of pre-op, so freaking hungry
I was banded almost a week ago, and yesterday was really the first day I felt "better" I quit pain meds by day 3 because they made me nauseous even with anti naseuse meds. I have wavered off the broth diet a few times......small bites noodles ect, and have had no issues, not that I'm saying this is ok, just saying, maybe it won't all be saying goodbye to foods, as much as it will be saying goodbye to portion sizes ???? sugar free jello also is good on a clear liquid diet, just not the red kinds, and it helps you feel like you "ate" something????

Banded yesterday????
Thank you Debbie, I managed to eat some yogurt and am still,on the pain meds, although I am only taking half a dose now, so that's improvement. I do like spicy food, and am hoping when I am all healed that I will be able to enjoy it heartburn free:)
