  1. Missysue, is your original post a typo? Should it say 2013? Can't believe over 100 lbs in 2 months... Help me out here, please. And you look great!
  2. My surgeon puts everyone who still has their gall bladder on a medication (ursodial) to avoid problems with sudden weightloss & gall bladders. I haven't had any problems hope everything goes well with ur surgery...
  3. After my endoscopy the dr. diagnosed me with gastritis and hiatal hernia. I was put on pantoprazole. Maybe you could ask ur dr. I have no problems... Praying you feel better soon.
  4. My surgeon cleared me to eat salad one month out. But he warned me of really roughages like raw broccoli, carrots and lettuce has to be chopped small before eating and chewed very well. I've had NO problems with anything. I feel blessed.
  5. I'm laughing at Music1618 because I can totally relate! I'm only 5 weeks postop and am in a stall. Everyone in these forums have told me it's normal so I'm staying positive. The only regret I had was feeling dog tired the first 2 weeks until the puréed foods stage. I felt lethargic and close to comatose but couldn't get good sleep. I thought I would be like that forever, very upset. Sex drive is thru the roof but have also had rambling crying bouts. (Scared my kids, now they think it was funny). And I see people eating great tasty foods and I want in but the sleeve brings me back to reality. AND I discontinued my hypertension medicine after one week. Oh, also the gall bladder medicine they put me on gave me a bad rash. Other than that... No regrets.
  6. Eating with people who don't know about your sleeve seems like the most difficult task! Well, you got thru your first outing! Check! Lol they probably think you're super dedicated to your new diet. When the weight starts noticeably disappearing they'll compliment your will power and ask, exactly what kind of diet are you on? It'll get easier, seems you chose well...
  7. Thanks Kindle, I was beginning to think I was alone with the artificial sweeteners thing. I kinda count the sugar in those drinks as calories eaten. I guess I just have to be patient. @ TheCurvyJones, how does the sugar make your body crazy?
  8. I was only eating the PB & ice cream to get the calories in... But I'll lay off now. Maybe I need help with the shakes. I mix 8 oz of light apple juice frozen berries two scoops of protein (20g) and calcium scoops. Equals about 12 oz. and am stuffed halfway thru. Is it bad to drink some regular juices or must it always be sugar free? I can't tolerate ANY artificial sweeteners. How about protein bars as a meal?
  9. Oh my....! What a story! These doctors have to listen to us more. We know our bodies. I'm glad you're doing better.
  10. I'm one month and almost one week postop and am losing maybe 1/2 pound per week. First week I lost 20 second week 4, then nothing. I was just cleared to exercise at one month and still no change. I don't understand how most have lost 30-40 by now and I'm struggling. Struggling to get in water. I keep a water bottle with me and sip ALL day but can get about 40 oz only. I was instructed to eat 3 meals a day no grazing but how can I get in the calories if I eat all the protein possible before filling up. I've resorted to peanut butter and ice cream for the last week. NOTHING'S coming off. What am I doing wrong? I could've just dieted and did better than this. At my last appt. I was told I lost 9 pounds fat, gained 2 muscle and gained 6 water, but lost only 1 on the scale... I don't wanna be 253 pounds of muscle! I'm open for ANY suggestions right about now... My highest weight was 278.
  11. I actually had a hiatal hernia repair during my sleeve surgery so I just tell people that, and omit the rest. Then when they ask why I'm not eating I say because of the location of the hernia I have to be careful not to irritate the incisions... That's also why I'm losing weight so fast and I think I'll use this issue to kickstart a new healthier lifestyle. All true but they don't need to know ALL the details. But you will need at least one person to speak with openly. I guess that's where we come in!
