1 week post-op
its the same for me. I screamed this morning it was so hard to get out of bed and I'm 2 weeks post op. I might have to just go in to emergency although I've been avoiding it. I got rear ended by a drunk driver Sunday so that didn't help either.

I never knew I had missed Tuna helper so much. About 2-3 ounces worth. Lol. It was good. With all the troubles I've been having, I have avoided nausea, vomiting, and dumping syndrome. No problem with sugar or butter. Still having some cramping with Water. But tea with cream no problem. juice no problem. It's weird. The worst thing is that I have a bad taste in my mouth more often than not. Not sure where it's from.

could have been your positioning during surgery. You should tell your primary care doctor.

my doctor says they don't even count the weights from the first week or so because you're given so much fluid it has to work its way out.

I know until you wake up in recovery you still don't feel like you've actually done anything. It's almost dreamlike.

i was in pain earlier because I was trying not to use the pain medicine. I'm going to ask my APN tomorrow whether the pain in the lower left side is normal, especially for it to be there this long. I still have some my neck pain on the right side and right chest from the accident. I finally broke down and took some pain medication and I actually feel better. I'm down 36 lbs already. Started at 303 was 278 by surgery day and even with all the fluids from the surgery and the ER last week I'm down to 267.8. Today I got down a cup of tea. A cup of Jello and 1/4 of a Wendy's frosty. 1/2 cup of strained mushroom Soup with some puréed babyfood meats. Pms cramps are about gone. So hopefully things are looking up. My aunt who is scheduled to have gastric bypass in December, she asked me if I regretted doing the surgery. I said everybody doesn't have the same reaction that I've had. But everyone at some point goes through buyers remorse. I'm sure if I can get past this point, I'll feel much better about my decision. I just realized today the best thing about having the surgery done is that I haven't had any symptoms of my diabetes. I used to get really sick in the week if I didn't eat at a certain time. I've not felt that since the surgery.

OCTOBER 2014
Nothing to do directly with my surgery and subsequent issues I've been having. But it's compounded my problems. I purposefully have been foregoing pain medication so that I could drive. Yesterday while the kids and I were returning from my dad's house we were rear ended by a Drunk driver. We were sitting at a stoplight and he slammed into the back of us. He tried to flee the scene. I've never been so bold in my life, but something within me said he's not gonna get away with it. I chased him around the block and he pulled within a parking lot and I trapped him by staying at the entrance while I was on the phone with the dispatcher. He proceeded to throw all these empty beer cans out of his passenger side door. I guess I was running on pure adrenaline. My son taped the whole thing. When the officers got there, they kept trying to put me in an ambulance. I was looking that bad I guess. But it's the next day. The kids are fine but I kept them home. I'm the one that wakes up with left neck and back pain. The continued issues from my surgery only now I'm nauseated from trying to drink my Protein shake. Almost threw up. Finally got it down and took my liquid pain meds so my stomach would be stable enough to take my meds. To add insult to injury, I have cramps now. I'm not complaining just glad to be alive. I'm might have to go back in for dehydration but I will do what I have to.
