  2. Where do I find the group Not For The Faint? Tx!
  3. Some shopping malls and stores like Nordstrom's have style consultants that are reasonable and give you one on one consultations. It's a fun and worthwhile way to start off with a pro to determine your style and what flatters your new body. They are usually reasonably priced and will save you a ton in buying wrong items. Happy Shopping! ????
  4. Hi - I hear you! I had my band removed in Jan. After 10 successful years. I had severe stomach pain and the Fill's stopped working. It was emotionally a huge thing to deal with. I feel for you. I am now having The Vertical Sleeve on Sept. 8th as I need a tool to keep my extra weight off. Get lots of support and keep reaching out! ????????????
  5. Hello - I'm in Victoria! My Surgery date is Sept. 8th for the VS. I had my Band removed in Jan. I guess you are on your pre op diet? How is it going? I'm on mine. Argh! PS I am a bit older than you - 59.
  6. All the very best and wishes for a smooth recovery!
  7. Hi - I'm booked for Sept. 8th. Are the videos helpful?
  8. Hi - In Canada we are required to be on Meal Replacements (like Boost) 5-6 per day and water for 1 month prior to surgery. That's it! I'm going into my 2nd week and it is tough. Surgery is Sept. 8th. Trying to stay positive...
  9. I had severe pain last year on my left side as well as it would not hold a fill. They could not find a leak. I had exploratory port surgery and the port got infected thus my band was removed. Devastating after 10 successful years. I am waiting for vertical sleeve surgery. I have a friend who has had her band for 14 years pretty much trouble free.
  10. Had my band removed this year after 10 years. :-(
  11. I am waiting for Surgery and have been approved in Canada. My BMI is 34.5. 5'1" and 180lbs.
  12. What is the longest someone has had the sleeve?
  13. I take Spironolactone for hair growth issues and male patterned baldness and to prevent cysts on my face. I use electrolysis occasionally too.
  14. Hi - I was diagnosed with PCOS in my mid thirties. I take Spironolactone to control cysts on my face and hair growth in unwanted places and male patterned baldness. It's worked! I am 3 weeks post op from Band Removal after 10 years. I have gained back 35 lbs in a year since my band stopped working. My Bariatric team has recommended the sleeve for me. Most of those ghrelin hunger hormones get removed in this surgery which curbs appetite. I am slowly jumping through all the hoops and log wait list, researching PCOS food plans and learning. It's hard, lonely and frustrating and I'm glad there are others here. I'm 59 and PCOS has been a life long curse. Thanks to everyone who has shared. I have found a lot of great info on Facebook Failed Lap Bands. Lots of experience there in revisions to other surgeries. ????
  15. Hi - I am 3 weeks post op from having my band removed after 10 years. I hear your frustration and feel for you. I have PCOS and have gained 35 lbs back and eat healthy, about 1600 cal a day. It's so frustrating! BUT I am not giving up and am going to have the Sleeve. Don't give up!!!! Research your options and find a solution that's comfortable for you.????
  16. Yes that's why It was prescribed for me and I take to stop with cyst breakouts on my face. It helps block testosterone in the hair follicle. I'm 59 and have been on it for about 15 - 20 years now.
  17. Are you on Spironolactone to prevent unwanted hair growth and male patterned baldness? I use that and electrolysis successfully.
  18. Hi - I had my band removed 2 weeks ago and am waiting for the sleeve and have PCOS. I am so glad you are all here!!! I've been worried that I won't lose weight. Can you share what size your sleeves are. My surgeon plans to do mine at 12 mm? I had to have my band very tight to lose weight because of my PCOS. What is your Protein, carb, fat ratio in your diet? Any negative side effects I should be aware of.
  19. Here's one that cut pretty deep...I was walking down the street and all of a sudden a pit bull lunged at me and started barking and trying to grab by hand. I said to the owner, you can't leave your dog unattended -he's going to hurt someone. The owner replied, "maybe he just doesn't like fat people"!
  20. Hi - I take Spironolactone for the hair issue. Waiting for my sleeve - band removed 2 weeks ago.
  21. I think age plays a part in the recovery time. I am 59 and 12 days post op and have bad pain down my left flank and exhaustion. My surgeon advised it will be 4-6 weeks + before I feel back to normal. Note: I was in hospital for 5 days with fever and extreme pain with my band removal. It has been rough. I have not lost the 9lbs water weight I gained in hospital. ????
