  1. Had my pre-surgery appointment with the surgeon to sign consent forms and ask 55 minutes worth of questions. His ears must have been ringing. Poor Dr. Fitzer. All is clear and now I sit and eat bonbons until Oct 28th. I wish, I am doing a low carb, low sugar, no caffeine until the 3 day liquid diet. But I feel like a circus acrobat after jumping through all the hoops - Done, tonight I celebrate
  2. @ lissa863 You managed to make it in the October losers group. Hurray and welcome!
  3. Look at the toilet paper savings girls. In a life time it will add up to more money to shop!
  4. @@karen Allen That's impressive. How have you been feeling? How was recovery at home?
  5. @@Bronxmerci Cute little boy. He has adorable cheeks. You are looking amazing too post surgery. I am floored by how well both you and @@layknee are doing. Focus on that gas!
  6. @@smiley922 I see. It makes sense since they placed you on oxygen. I happens to a lot of people because of the intubation and fluid build up sometimes your lungs can't get up to capacity or are not as effective with breathing. I had oxygen once and actually loved it. I felt so much better.
  7. Is it called Argus?
  8. @@swimbikerun did you intend to place an attachment on your post? "read this"
  9. I'm in Virginia. I was just relating what another post said. Perhaps I should get an ultrasound of the gallbladder. Better safe then sorry.
  10. @@layknee you look amazing for someone who just had surgery
  11. @@AuriP I can tell your tummy is a little smaller. Hurray.
  12. @@Mariew24 Welcome. Glad you could join us, October losers.
  13. @smilley922 I can't believe they are not making you use the Cpap. They are required to. I was told if I did not bring mine they would not be able to operate. I am so MAD, I want to go over and slap them (I don't believe in violence but I wish I did in a moment like this.)
  14. @@amylynns, what a terrible decision to have to make this late in the game. I wish I could help but this is a hard one. Go with the best available information and don't try to beat yourself to death with "what if." You can't predict the future. Good Luck. I would focus on that 4:45 AM hospital arrival. You'll get to sleep after surgery.
  15. I am so very sorry I could not be of more help, your girlfriend is in a very serious situation. I will let you know what I find out.
  16. I burp like all the time. I only did that when I was pregnant which was kind of related to nausea. And I have bloating and kind of painful lower abdomen. Like I ate something that didn't agree with me. But it doesn't go away.
  17. @@tacycakes I laughed so hard at your CPAP comment. I have the same exact experience. I have trouble getting all my 64 oz of Water in everyday and at the end of the day I try to drink what is leftover (too much, too late in the day). But I wake up twice before midnight and sometimes again at like 3 or 4 AM to go to bathroom. Sometimes I lay there wondering if I can get away without going but can't fall asleep wanting to go. With the CPAP lovely routine, aka annoying CPAP, I have accidentally managed to drop the machine twice in the past week alone. It was more like a fling across the room as I pulled the tube in some funky way. Don't ask me how I did it. I wasn't thinking straight at 3 AM. I'll spare you the details but it resulted on a scream, a few choice words, turning on the light and my husband going "what the heck is going on?". Yeh, I plan on burning the CPAP.
  18. Correction: This is what happens when you try to read something in the dark at 6:45 AM. Hello, turn on the office light Beni. @@jasminebsn3 is the person referenced 3 posts prior who I believe was scheduled for surgery today
  19. @amylynns. You are so kind to say, I have a spreadsheet list of everyone. I do have a list but it's a lot less glamorous then that. Lets' put it this way, it's so 2007 (right @tacycakes) aka pen and paper. I live in fear of forgetting someone or having it wrong. To complicate matters people forget to update their profile with their surgery date and the only way is to find the original post with the actual comment. Good luck with that! We are 90 pages long now and 894 replies. We sure are chatty but I LOVE IT!
  20. Today Oct 15, surgeries are: @@Melora, maybe @@OnePhatWhoDat and @jasminebsn. (Those dates are not updated in the "upcoming surgeries" thread and I have not heard from them in a while but at one point they stated they were having surgery today.) Good luck Gladiators your new you awaits
  21. The last resort would be to have a reversal of the surgery. I know it can be done. She still has the stomach and the section of the intestines that was bypassed they can put it back together the way it was. My surgeon said Bypass is reversible.
  22. I have read about Wernickes encephalopathy. I have done a lot of research on weight loss surgery. Try the New England Journal of Medicine and National Institute of Health websites and search for studies using the key words. Also consider contacting the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons (ASMBS). If any one would know how to guide you it would be them. Also, contact major University Hospitals. They are doing research all the time and Bariatric surgery has been around for over 20 years in the US. Good Luck, there must be something out there. Next time I see my doctor I will ask as well and let you know.
  23. Me too. It gets to a point that enough is enough, right? Our group has been going strong for a while. Everyone has contributed so much. We ask questions and support each other in a lovely way. We need each other especially because I feel like no one else knows what we are going through.
  24. See that's my problem I don't know if I have the right symptoms for gallbladder. My tummy hurts sometimes and I can't figure out why. That's why I asked what your symptoms were because what I researched doesn't match mine all the way
