I am 67 yrs young, have been thinking about banding seriously for about 6 months now, I have been heavy since my early teens and have tried most diets.  I did a lot of research about banding and decided it was best for me.  My first attempt to get information failed because Bali Bariatric's in Charleston WV didn't return my emails or phone calls, finally I found Dr. Bissell in Christiansburg VA.  I travel 134 miles roundtrip to see him.  On July 29th I had my consult with Barbara and September 3rd my first visit with Dr. Bissell, September 9th was dietitian & exercise physiologist, September 15th was labs, EKG, upper GI
& psychologist 1st visit, September 26th psychologist 2nd visit & referral for surgery.  Now just waiting for Medicare and Anthem BCBS approval & hopefully surgery date.  So excited - wish me luck.
 
Had 2nd visit with Dr. Bissell on October 8th and was given surgery date of November 11th.  I start my pre-op diet on October 28th. So looking forward to finally getting started on the next leg of my journey.
