  1. No pain here, just a tiny bit of itching, but my incisions are almost healed. I talked to my dr and he ok'd me trying soft foods ahead of schedule, so I'm pretty jazzed about that! My clothes fit MUCH looser now, very happy!
  2. I'm down about 8.5 lbs and I think that's pretty decent for only 12 days, and while still healing! My clothes are fitting better, and I LOVE that feeling!
  3. My doctors plan has me on liquids for another 9 days (3 weeks total). I'm definitely looking forward to some soft foods!
  4. I was doing fine in this dept, but all the sudden I'm having issues. There are lots of different suggestions in other threads, and based on those I'll be picking up some prune juice and milk of magnesium, stat.
  5. Dang, 21 lbs in a week? That's great!!! Sorry you has such a rough time otherwise though.
  6. Following this thread... I don't get to start soft foods until the 29th, and I have a lot of the same questions! I've decided that I'll only introduce new foods when I'm at home. Dumping at work is something I want to avoid at all cost!
  7. I had the exact same reaction when telling a friend. I feel like this is a very personal decision, and have decided that I will just tell people I'm making major lifestyle changes. I'm six days post-op, so we'll see how that answer works soon!
  8. Best of luck to you and your son! I think it's great that you have someone to share this journey with!
  9. Yes, they gave me oxycodone and Tylenol for pain. The oxycodone makes me sleepy though. I think I might have to bend the rules and have some SF jello.... Shhhh.
  10. I'm doing good! Pain is a little less today, although I'm just a little nauseous. I keep hiccuping though, only like once or twice an hour, but it's not fun I'm jealous, my doc/nutritionist said no jello for the first three weeks. I'm pretty bummed about that! Glad to hear that everyone is doing so well!
  11. I'm still in the hospital too, but they should be releasing me in the next couple hours. Pain isn't too bad, and I'm avoiding the meds since the oxycodone knocks me out. Hoping they'll send me hope with something different. I'm going to be very happy to go home to my own bed!
  12. I'm feeling really good! Yesterday was rough when I first woke up from surgery, but after the pain meds kicked in it was much better. Started on liquids today, and so far no issues there either.
  13. Definitely getting nervous, but so glad the countdown is almost done! Good luck everyone!
  14. Well good luck to us all! I'd better start packing my hospital bag! I've seen ppl on here talk about packing gas-X... Does the hospital not give you anything for the gas? I can't see taking an OTC med while admitted going over too well. Thoughts?
  15. Hopefully it won't be too bad. I keep telling myself that if I can't do this then I won't be able to do the harder part after surgery.
  16. I start clear liquids only tomorrow... Can't believe we're down to only a day and a half!
  17. Bummer! I was worried it'd be afternoon, very glad it's not.
  18. Nervous, but ready!! My "show time" is 9am Monday!
  19. Omgosh Shauna29, that's a huge bummer...!! Why did they cancel, if you don't mind my asking?
  20. Has anyone tried Isopure shakes? I'm thinking about going to GNC to pick some up this weekend. I know I like Visalus shakes and have some of that already, just want to have a few different ones on hand in case some don't agree with me after surgery.
  21. Hello all! I'm scheduled for RNY on the 8th. I'm mostly excited, but a whole lot nervous too. My Dr doesn't have me in a liquid diet, just high protein/low carb. Interesting how different the programs are. My dr is at a base hospital tho, maybe that's part of it.
