Ditto on the above post. eclectick don't beat yourself up. All of your emotions are normal. Of course there's going to be highs and lows during this journey. It's a major life change. You would be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't put so much thought into it. Read as much as you can learn as much as you can and this forum is a great place for support. Keep hanging out here and you'll find a lot of great contacts with a lot of great advice.

Hi eclectick..... I'm 50 also. Definitely do you think about all the things I'll be able to do once I lose this weight. I have 100 pounds to lose to get to goal but will be happy with 80 to 90 if that's what I get 2. I can't wait to go on amusement rides water park horseback riding long walks swimming and being comfortable in a bathing suit being able to stand up from the floor without help and many more things. My kids are excited for me to be able to do all these things also. Even though I'm 50 I have 12 year old twins you still keep me very busy . Keep dreaming and everything will be here before you know it

I'm scheduled for surgery on November 4th ... RNY bypass . Nervous and excited can't wait for it to get here.

Hi Amy I'm doing great I just found out last week that my surgery was approved and my surgery date is November the 4th. Very excited a little nervous. Just went to a support group in my area and that was great especially since its only a half an hour from my house instead of an hour and a half which is where Fair Oaks Hospital is from my house. How is your recovery coming? Hope you're doing well

Hey Becca Pam submitted on the 2nd of September and I got her call today with the approval . So it only took one week to get it. As far as surgery I requested the first week in November because I have some stuff going on in the end of October. But I know they do schedule 4 to 6 weeks out from the notification of approval. Yours will happen and be here before you know it. Take care

Hi sherriB I wanted to let you know that I use are protein powder called Bluebonnet its all natural and it is sweetened with Stevia . I have the vanilla and chocolate I like the chocolate better but the vanilla is good if its mixed with PB2. I'm starting to research vitamins define which ones are sweetened with Stevia I can't do artificial sweeteners . If you find something in the vitamin realm that's all natural post it for me if you wouldn't mind. I've just finished all my pre-op work and waiting on insurance approval . I'm looking at the first week in November for surgery . Good luck with your research

November will be here before you know it Dee. I just hope I don't have a lot of " last suppers" before my surgery gets here or I might gain some weight. Going to the gym 3 days a week just riding the bike right now but hoping to start lifting some weights soon . Ttyl

Hi ladies looks like we're all in for the month of November. My insurance should have proved me in the next 10 days or so. Then surgery is 4 to 6 weeks out. I'm going through Bluepoint Surgical group in Virginia and having my surgery at Fair Oaks Hospital. I should be the first week of November . That's my goal. However right now my goal is not to eat everything in sight. Trying to do some protein bars and protein shakes instead of meals now and then and chewing my food a lot more. I'm not too worried about the surgery but I'm really worried about the post op getting the water and the protein in. How are you guys doing with these weeks leading up to the surgery?

Amy how is your recovery going? I see you had your surgery in Fairfax did you have it at Fair Oaks and who was your surgeon ? I'm going through Blue Point Surgical Group with Dr Moazzez probably the end of October or the first week of November

Hi Pik I sorta followed some of your posts: and saw that you weren't doing so well after surgery . Are you doing better now? I live in La Plata and I saw in a previous post of yours that you used to live here. Are you from here?

Min I miss I'm hoping for end of October surgery possibly the first of November too . Are you in the Northern Virginia area? Where are you having your surgery? I'm having mine at Fair Oaks through bluepoint Surgical group with Doctor moazzez.

BeccaE1 hi Becca they changed the format when I updated my bariatric pal app so I had trouble finding this Northern Virginia thread. I hope you get this because I can't even figure out how to private message someone. I was just finally learning the old one and now this is the new one and I can't figure it out. I'm going to go to the support group the second Saturday at 10 a. M. St Mary's Hospital thought you might want to know that in case you want to go. Send me a message back if you get this if you know how to do that

Waiting for a mid September insurance approval and hopefully the end of October surgery. Anyone want to stay in touch about their surgery around the same time that'd be great.
