  1. My surgeon does not require liquid diet either... Protein shakes during day and fish or chicken for dinner up until 2 days before surgery. I was actually shocked when he told me this and when I mentioned what I've read on here about the liquid diet he said that technically there is no need. As long as you follow a clear liquid only for the 2 days prior your stomach will be empty of solids by surgery.
  2. I'm so nervous for my appointment on Monday. I'm so afraid the dr is gonna say "no cant do it!" Or reject me. What are some things that happen at your appointment? Are there any do's and dont's? How long from consultation til surgery? (I've already done my 6 months of weigh ins).... See I'm kinda freakin out!
  3. I've already had 6 months of weigh in's and so far have lost almost 30 lbs and this is the longest I have stuck with any kind of diet ever! So hopefully that kind of speeds the process.
  4. Just curious how long it took people from the time you started to the day of your surgery??
  5. Thanks for the encouragement. I am determined to make this happen. I just hope everything falls into place.
  6. So I'm just starting my journey. I want this so bad but I'm scared I'm going to get rejected for whatever reason. Im on my 6th month of required weigh in's and I gained 3lbs last month and I read in one of these threads that someone's insurance rejected their surgery because they gained a couple lbs. So now I'm freaking out. I'm 5'7" and weigh 335 which puts me at a bmi over 50 Plus I have high blood pressure, migraines, and depression... I'm freaking out that I'm going to get rejected... I have 2 insurances (blue cross and medicaid) but I'm still freaking out that they will reject me for something stupid!! Is this normal??
  7. I have Blue Cross as primary ins and Medicaid as secondary ins. I called Blue Cross yesterday and they only cover my surgery at 50%. Does anyone know if medicaid will pick up the remaining balance? Or how that works.....
  8. I'm just starting my journey and was wondering what BCBS and Medicaid's requirements are to be approved? Also what kind of out of pocket costs, if any, might there be. Any info is greatly appreciated
  9. Although I don't weigh 400, I do weigh about 360. I'm just in the beginning stages of my journey. I have set small goals for myself and have a realistic outlook. I know I will never be a "Cindy Crawford" or any super model for that matter! I just want to be free of the junk in my trunk!! I want to be able to volunteer in my kids school without worrying if they're gonna be made of! My mom was over weight when I was little and I would get made fun of.... It's horrible! It's a memory that has never went away! I just want to get healthy for myself and my family!
