    Help!

I had a fill Friday. How do I tell the difference between the full feeling I'm suppose to get and the stuck feeling I am getting????? I am having to drink fluids very slowly or else they feel like their coming back up my throat. And I just had some solid food and it "stuck" so bad I had a little back up of phlem and a burping episode before that. I know....sorry that is gross! I don't feel "full"...I just feel "stuck" and it hurts. I don't know whether to tell my Dr. to take some out or not....I really really want the restriction!

    Help!

I didn't bookmark my ticker when I first made it. I just tried to go in and make a new one to start over and I'm having trouble figuring out which part of it I'm suppose to copy and paste. Every time I try it it says invalid. I'll just wait until my son gets home. He will have to help me again. I am so computer illiterate!! Thank you for answering me! I will take your advise and stay on liquids today and move to soft foods tomorrow or the next day and see how it goes. I hope you have a great rest of your Sunday!! Lisa

    Help!

Good advise! Thank you! BTW my weight loss ticker is old. I can't seem to figure out how to change it myself. I have lost 26 lbs. I'm a couple months behind things because my port actually came un-done a little and flipped upside down. I had to have a 2nd surgery to re-attach it and then couldn't get filled for another 6 weeks. When you feel full with good restriction does it hurt? Or feel stuck?

    How much food/meal?

The part I get stuck on is which part of the URL or HTML I copy and paste. I've tried all different parts of it, all of it ect and still it won't take. My sons computer genius friend put my ticker up the first time and I didn't pay attention to how he did it. Any advise?
  7. I just had my first fill Friday. They sent me out in the waiting room to sip water to see if it went down ok. IT DIDN"T! The symtons you are describing are exactly how I felt! My DR immediately put me back on the table and gave me an unfill. She said she had me completely closed off. You need to get back to your Doc and get some taken out!!! BTW ticker is wrong......(don't know how to change it). I've lost 24 1/2 lbs as of today!!

    How much food/meal?

This difference in recommended diets after surgery is bizarre! I think my DR is more progressive than others. She told me to start with liquids and test the waters into mushies and solids whenever I felt like it. 1/2 cup maximum per sitting. I just took a bite and waited to see how it sat. If it didn't feel right I quit. I just had my first fill Friday. I couldn't tolerate even yogurt for about 24 hours but then I was good to go with mushies. BTW my ticker is wrong. As of today I've lost 24 1/2 lbs. I can't figure out how to change my ticker! DAH!!!

Hunger's Back! Will the fill work?

I am so glad I read this tonight! I thought it was just me! Banded on 10/11, 19 lbs lost so far and sometimes feel no restriction at all! Very hungry!! I won't get my first fill until the week of Thanksgiving. I know why they call this "bandster hell"! I started excercising at the gym yesterday and I LOVE it! I think this is how to keep your spirits up and keep the weight coming off! I think we just have to get through this rough time right now and then it will get easier.

    sex after surgery

My husband and I had sex last night. I'm less than 3 weeks post op. Afterwards the area around the port got hard and tender. What is up with that??????? I asked my DR about sex and she said I could whenever I felt like it. Has anyone else had this happen?

    sex after surgery

Thanks everyone! The muscules around my port are still "hard" or firmer than they were before? I guess I just woke them up and they decided to guard the injured area. At least that is what my Dr. thinks is happening. She must have been a little concerned because she had her nurse call me back to see how I was doing. I was the first surgery for my Dr. so she and her staff are just learning and probably hearing these questions for the first time.
  14. I am in bandster hell as you guys call it! I tolerated solid foods the first week after my surgery! I have more than 3 weeks to go before I can have my first fill!!! I am hungry all the time and I can eat pretty much anything. I refuse to give up even 1 pound I've lost so far!! It is going to be hard for me to not dive into that bag of Tostitos out there in the pantry!!!! Any advise????

    sense of smell off

Hi, I am 7 days post op and I am wondering if anyone else is having this problem. My sense of smell is WAY off! I smell one smell and its a wierd smell. Today I sniffed the coffee grounds and I don't smell coffee! Everything I sniff smells the same! What is this?

Eating rice - why is this difficult?

I was banded on 10/11 and also haven't tried rice. I hadn't heard it was difficult. Maybe because it's kind of sticky and like fresh bread balls up in there.

    Any Regrets?

My Dr. said to work my way up to solid food at my own pace. She said they use to make it very regimented for the first couple months but have found it to be ok if the patient experiments one food at a time. I do wonder why I am able to tolerate solids so soon??????? Maybe I won't once I get my first fill. Thanks!

    Binge Eating?!

My new best friend is sugarless popsicles!!! They are only 15 calories and when I'm feeling like I want to binge eat I eat a couple of those. THey take a while to eat and it requires alot of mouth action which seems to satisfy me.

    Any Regrets?

I was banded on Oct 11th. I don't regret doing it but you need to know you will get bummed out from time to time. Last night I was feeling blue because the weekend is here and I don't have "going out for dinner" to look forward to. I also felt like I could never eat pizza again. Not true! My husband went to Pizza Hut and brought me home a thin and crispy cheese pizza. We cut one piece up and found that 3/4 of a piece fits into a 1/4 cup. So that is what I eat and I was EXTREMELY full and satisfied! I have to remind myself that food is less important than my health!!!! Good luck!

    sense of smell off

I thought that was it but today will be my last day of a Z-pack. I would think the antibiotic would have done it. I am still really nasally though?????

    sense of smell off

Well then my smeller has gone haywire! I only smell one thing! Nothing smells like its suppose to! Everything smellls the same! It is really starting to get on my nerves!!
  22. Maybe it is the mental thing.....it is a long thought out process to get the band.....now that I have it I'll be darned if I'm going to let it not work! I think I need something dramatic to shake up my will power. Family, friends, co workers all encouraging me and telling me how proud they are of me is the boost I need to do it. Even though I wasn't a huge portion eater the 1/4 cup I get right now is 5 times less than a normal meal for me! That alone will prompt weight loss. But...you have to really want this! If you aren't mentally wrapped around this whole thing I could see it not working.

A womans week at the gym!!

LOL This is VERY funny! So much truth in it!!!!!

    just a question

I am believing it is a "mind over matter" thing. Once you are ready to take control of your future health it just seems to be easier. I wouldn't say there was one defining moment when I had this HUGE revalation. But once I made up my mind that this was the answer...quiting smoking, and tredging forward just seamed like the only way to go.

    Smoking

I did quite smoking before surgery. I used the patch. Worked great!! Then 2 wks before surgery my DR said she would rather I not have the nicotine in my system at all so I went off the patches too. The very next day I had to go on the liquid diet! To me that week was the worst thing about doing this! No food no cigarettes not even a little nicotine!! I almost buckled!! But I didn't and now I'm smoke free! In fact I don't even think about having a cigarette any more. My focus has switched to the weight loss. BTW my Dr required I not smoke for at least 2 wks b-4 the surgery.
