  1. I just had the gastric sleeve done by Dr. Juarez at St. Lukes on 4/30. I did it through the VA in Phoenix, so insurance was covered, but I have to say, in the past year at the VA, I am less than 10 who have had it covered due to the heavy restrictions that are required. I had a 2pm surgery time and was in recovery and awake by 7, walking around the floor by 9pm. I walked 4 laps every 2 hours with 0 pain and was released by 12pm the next day. Other than being on high blood psi meds and stopping those because my blood psi was getting to low, I feel great. Incisions are painless and internal gas is non-existant.
  2. I'm 3 days post and started to feel goofy. I did a mix shake and was able to drink 4oz in 20-30 mins. Put the rest in fridge. I feel short on protein so I'm going to focus on that for a few days. Good luck
  3. So how are things nmsugirl?
  4. My wife is an RN and had the sleeve done last Aug. We didn't remember her time frame, but we know they did fall off on their own. She's 112lbs. Down BTW.
  5. @@meSparkle83, I don't want to be premature on the removal, so may just wait. @@liannatx, I may just wait until that same time frame. Thanks for responding Thanks MissMac. I'm definitely not looking to do this ahead of time.
  6. So how long after sleeve surgery did you remove the medical tape? Some of my incisions have a good amount of dried blood. Worried if I peel off, they will bleed. Only 3 days out. Just checking.
  7. Im really sorry to hear. I was able to lay down most of the day/night. I'd get up to go to the bathroom, drink, and then head back to sleep. This morning I was able to eat my second meal since surgery from the 30th. You gotta walk. I went walking yesterday three times since coming home at 2pm. This AM gonna watch my kiddo play soccer, so headed to the park. Gotta move and get that gas out.
  8. Thank you NewMrsSmith. Congrats to you as well.
  9. Thanks SimplySharon. I can't wait to kick it in gear.
  10. I feel awesome. Did 4 laps, eating ice and 0 pain. Excellent doctor.
  11. Well, getting ready to leave. I love how things just seem to work out. God's got this. Jer.29:11. Good luck to everyone on the new you side.
  12. Thank you very much. Can't wait to get in and out.
  13. Same here. 4/30 in phoenix. Good luck
  14. Let's do this Big Opie. You know, I was a police officer and injured at the WTC on 9/11 and by two drunks in the line of duty. I ended up a wheel chair and had to get my lower extremities all repaired. I use to run half marathons and work out at 220lbs. In 9 years, I haven't been able to work out any more due to my injuries and gained 100 lbs. Im getting my surgery tomorrow 4/30. Today, I was so hesitant and bummed out about being the last day. But it is the last day of the old me. I'm totally pumped to lay my head down and get this done. Get healthy, get your meds and get motivated girl. Woooooooooooooooooooooo. I sound like Richard Simmons. lol
  15. I start my protein diet tomorrow (4/16) with surgery on 4/30 (Gastric Sleeve) in Phoenix. Going from 313 to 200.
