  1. I'd also like to add that my family members have been REALLY supportive! Go figure. I guess maybe they know I gained this all after my mom died, know all of my co-morbidities, and want me to get my health back.
  2. Hi there, I have this problem, too....I wanted to make a point by telling people I was having this surgery so I would not feel ashamed...but after some of my neighbor's responses, should I? I had one girl say to me after she saw me jogging "You look like you've lost weight...oh I guess you don't have to have that surgery now don't you?". Of course her husband is into martial arts and she has a bit of extra weight around her hips from babies..but she really would have no clue how hard it is to lose and keep off 140 lbs? Another neighbor reacts with a fake smile when I talk to her about my upcoming surgery date... they all think it is dangerous and risky. And she's fat too! I have explained that it isn't like the gastric bypass, but I don't think even then they really understand.
  3. My husband and I have been together since 98 and married since 02. We have never cheated on each other, we both are not that type of people. I could never imagine doing that to him, especially now that we have two small children to raise and be a good example to. I think my husband is even more HOT now than he was when I met him!
  4. Hi there, piping in here a bit late...thought I would reply anyways 1) I am going with Dr. Leung, date is Dec 27th. I have heard and read that he is an excellent surgeon. Met him in person, he'll tell you the way it is, does not sugar-coat anything. Can seem harsh to others I think but he didn't bother me, as I did it to myself getting this fat. 2.) I had to wait less than a month to see him (had to get tests done beforehand to bring with me to the c onsult). My surgery date was four months after that, but they just bumped it up a month!! 3.) It's not covered, the cost is $12,812.50. I am going to try to get MSP and my extended health to cover it after the fact. I will probably win considering it took me over two years to get approved for CPP disability, and over a year fighting for my long-term disability benefits (I did not give up when they said no at least three times!!). Hope this helps
