  1. I'd love to join my first challenge! I'd say the long one!
  2. Anyone who doesn't want to put a WLS goal certainly doesn't have to! I will definitely be joining Steph's next challenge too!
  3. I hope more people join, but even if it's just us 3 we can make this challenge work!
  4. Okay everyone- So I'm having some trouble getting motivated to exercise so I thought I would start up an exercise challenge so we can do it together. Here's the outline: 1) Let everyone know what your weekly exercise goal is 2) Let us know what your goal weight loss is for the challenge period (till 12/24) 3) Report back each week with if you made your exercise goal and what your weight is! I know we can do this together!! My goal is to exercise 3 hours per week and my CW 225.6 goal weight 214.6 (by 12/24)
  5. Hey everyone. I am two weeks out today and lost almost 15 lbs the first week. I'm up 1 lb this week which from what I've heard is normal. I'm starting Purée and the new tummy seems to be handling it okay. But I still have this horrible "Head Hunger". I think about food and want to eat almost all the time and it's hard to distinguish when I'm really hungry and when it's just in my head. I have a husband who is thin and eats a lot of junk food so it's around the house. I'm more into savory and not sweets. I've thought of trying out Overeaters Anonymous but there are no convienient times or places. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to deal with the head hunger and cravings for food we aren't supposed to eat? I really want my pouch to work and do my best. Love to all.
  6. This recently happened to me when I changed food stages. I was down 13 lbs then up almost 2. I really panicked. Then a Bariatric buddy of mine told me when she first started out one week she was up 2 and the next week down 12. And my mom who had the surgery and my buddy both said that this is a normal time to hit a stall since your body is adjusting. Just hang in there and the weight will start to come down. I know it can be scary, I felt the same way! Just try to focus on how you feel and not the numbers!
  7. Hey where in Jersey are you from??

  10. Hey all- I just had my revision to Gastric Sleeve on Tuesday and am on all clear liquids. I can go to full liquids next week for 2 weeks then I'll be on Pureeds. I was just wondering in order to prepare do you guys have any good suggestions for soft foods or Pureeds? Thanks a bunch!
  11. Hey everyone- I'm currently on Zyprexa for depression and it is a medication which really increases your appetite and slows your metabolism. I've gained 35 lbs in the past few months since getting my band out with it. My question is (I'm supposed to get the sleeve at the end of next month), is anyone else taking Zyprexa or a medication that affects their metabolism/appetite and if so how does that impact your sleeve? Do you find the sleeve is still able to do its job? Are you losing weight? Thanks bunches, Rebecca

  19. I went out today to K-Mart and bought a cute top and pair of Jillian Michael's workout capris. Hoping to go to the gym later in the week wearing my new outfit.
  20. I like the idea of an audiobook or sometimes what I've done is watched a show on the "Hulu" app on my phone the few times I've ventured out in the past.
  21. Where in Jersey are you? I am in Essex County. I was a Bander and just had my band removed two days ago and am revising to the Sleeve in 3 months (September)....have to do a 90 Day Medically Supervised Diet for the Insurance. But I know the ropes and would love to talk. Could always use an extra friend/Support on the journey. PS-Hope your move went well!
  22. That's a great idea!
  23. Thanks for the advice everyone. I'm definitely going to try going back to a basics yoga class and try my best to hook up the headphones and get on the treadmill. I know I can do it. I may even treat myself to a new exercise outfit to kick it off.
