  1. I had surgery on the 8th and been on the liquid diet since then. Seeing others eat doesn't bother me much. I really was craving a scrambled egg, so even though it's a couple days early, hubby scrambled one up for me. It was so good, I ate slow and careful and it was the best egg ever LOL I couldn't even finish it. I was so full afterwards, like I just went to a buffet or something, I needed a nap I think two weeks is plenty for a liquid diet, I mentally am planning all my little meals next week. Taking my lemon calcium supplement is like a dessert now.
  2. Sorry for your loss. I would definitely bring a pillow to hold on your stomach for the drive. I am 5 days out, and I still need the pillow, especially over bumps and turns. Make sure you have pain meds as well. Bring the pre-made shakes in a cooler for easy nutrition. I also carry a Water bottle of ice and strawberry unjury with lemonade crystal light to sip on. Having someone available to help get into/out of the car and into places helps a lot as well.

I'm on June 8th! Started my pre-op diet today. Really like the premier shakes from Costco so far. Add me!

    Do you lie?

I've been thinking a lot about that lately too. So far, my husband kids and parents know. I've been approved, but my first appointment isn't until October, so I haven't told many others. My current thought is that if it was a heart bypass instead of a gastric bypass, there'd be no question. It's a surgery that my doctor recommended for my health, more than anything, weight loss is a welcome side effect. There's always going to be judgmental people. When my son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 14, so many people told me "it must've been the sugar." No...he was 100 lbs and his pancreas quit making insulin. He's 21 and I still have to educate people that think he should have grown out of his juvenile diabetes. So, if people ask, I will tell them, heck, I may even tell them if they don't ask. If anyone actually has the nerve to tell me I took the easy way out, I will come up with some great comeback lines (I have time to collect them )
