  1. Well I tried Buproprion(Wellbutrin) and it didn't work for me because I still had the cravings. So I stopped taking it and Chantix isn't covered by my insurance and it's expensive.
  2. Looking fabulous, Miss!!!
  3. Congrats on beginning your journey. I'm also focusing on me for all of 2015...lol
  4. Mine was suppose to be this month, but pushed back to Feb because my protein was too low and the can't test again for 30 days after the first test. So trying to increase protein so I can get my surgery date.
  5. Wow this is truly an amazing story, and I'm new to this site and glad that I found this app. Hearing everyone's story really makes this journey easier for me. I'm pre-op and just waiting on a surgery date. I've finished all the necessary requirements to get approved and now I wait. You all are very beautiful and your stories really touch my heart.
  6. What an inspiring story. Thank you for sharing. I can't wait until I have my surgery.
  7. Congrats, can't wait till I get my surgery date.
  8. Congrats I hope to get there soon. Still waiting on surgery date.
  9. Congrats and praying for everything to go well for you
  10. Those are all really good suggestions, but unfortunately I haven't found one e-cig that I like. The gum does help though and I like the idea of just holding an actual cigarette in hand without lighting it up.
  11. True @@Kindle I totally agree and that's what I keep telling myself, but the painful truth is I enjoy smoking cigarettes when hanging out with friends. I'm more of a social smoker, if that's a thing...lol
  12. The only thing I disagree with the Doctors when they say if you can't quit smoking then your chances of succeeding after surgery will decrease because one has nothing to do with the other. The surgery is a tool to help me control the my eating habits and unfortunately there is no surgery that I know of to help with nicotine cravings. So the 2 are very different. I know that I'll follow all the rules post surgery and I'm gonna figure out how to quit smoking but it's just really hard. I've even prayed about it, asking the Lord for help. My idea is to try the gum to control the cravings, and try to stay home, because going out seems to be the trigger. I'm fine at home. I Don't even think about smoking at all, it's just when I leave the house and go out and party.
  13. I know I shouldn't be smoking and I have slowed down to maybe 2 or 3 a month and I think that's good then a pack and a half a week. It's hard to stop cold turkey, but I have heard the gum helps with the cravings and I'm definitely going to try it.
  14. This is really a struggle for me because I'm a smoker. I have cut down a lot because the only time I smoke is when I go out and that's once a week, usually Friday night. I know that your surgeon will not operate on you if you are a smoker but I don't really consider myself a smoker because I maybe smoke about 2 - 3 cigs a week. I've even gone 30 days without smoking. What do you think. Also if you have any tips on how I can quit it would be appreciated because obviously cold turkey does not work.
  15. Wow, what an inspiration. Your success definitely gives me something to look forward to. Way to go!!!
  16. Surprisingly I'm not afraid of giving up food. I can't wait to give up the foods that put me in this situation in the first place.
  17. Congrats I'm looking at a Feb date too. Just waiting on my dr to re check my protein on Jan 23
  18. Some people have no filter and say whatever comes to mind...I'm glad you said what you said back...way to go
  19. I can't wait to start my pre op diet. My dr wants me to increase my protein 1st because my protein was too low. But I know once I get to pre op diet stage I'm closer to getting a surgery date.
  20. I'm done being depressed about the wait because in a way it does give me more time to be sure if this is really what I want to do, and it is. I appreciate the insurance company giving me 6 months to prepare myself physically and mentally. Got to look on the bright side.
  21. @yiggy thank you for that info, it really helps to know that I'm not alone.
  22. That's what a lot of people tell me, but like I said she has good qualities that out weigh her bad qualities.
