  1. I made it thru too, Friends. Sleeved on 9/15. 1st day was great because of the drugs, 2nd I fought big time nausea and felt so sick. 3rd day was massive headaches. Today I am much better. Little sips of liquids and started shakes.. up to about 25 oz. So far. Bubbles in tummy feel uncomfortable as they come up. No pain today and no nausea. .. I also had a surprise hernia repair. Glad to see others checking in from the big 9/15 day. Anyone noticing sensitivity to smell? Everything smells really strong to me...
  2. Way to go! Thanks for the inspiration.
  3. Good luck, Friends! I'm on deck for 9 am surgery tomorrow. Wishing everyone all the best on surgery day. Let's do this!!
  4. Yeah, I hear you. Maybe we all tolerate the surgery a little differently, have different pain thresholds, etc. The mind is very powerful too.... but you are right, pace yourself and ease back into things. We are in this for the long haul.
  5. I guess it boils down to how much do you really want this? The sleeve should help make weight loss a little easier but it's still going to be a ton of work, right? I mean once your post op, it's going to be some time until you can get back into regular foods. Think of the liquid diet as your mental and physical prep. I hope I didn't come off sounding like a jerk.
  6. Hey there gang! I'm turning 40 in late October and will be 5 weeks post surgery. Any ideas on how I should celebrate with friends and family, without having a food centric event? Thanks!! -- Alexsis
  7. I'm not going to miss bumping into walls, worrying about fitting into chairs - especially airplane seats, having to shop at plus size stores and so much more! What about you? What are you going to try as you get smaller? I want to try rock wall climbing!
  8. @@76girl - I am down in south orange county.... lake forest.
  9. Dr didn't require a preop diet but wanted patients to lose 10 pounds. I am doing mostly liquid and Greek yogurt. Please keep this thread rolling. Makes me feel better knowing there are others that are in the same exact "boat".
  10. Welcome aboard! I'm new too... my date is Monday, 9/15. What are your worries and concerns? I'm trying to figure out how to Celebrate my 40th birthday without it being food centric. (October birthday )
  11. Hi guys! I'm getting sleeved in less than 48 hours -9/15. How is everyone mentally preparing for success? I'm visualizing and thinking about how I will feel weighing 100 pounds less, not walking like I'm 90 years old. Trying to be realistic that there will be struggles, pain and challenges. I've preped my support and explained what I envision the new norm to be..... How about you?
  12. I'm very selective on who I'm telling. I told my work that I was having surgery. End of sentence. I think I'm going to smack the first person who says I took the easy way out. Lol
  13. I'm Monday too! Good luck to you. Yes, the sleeve will work and you can do this!
  14. Me too!!! I was such a grouch yesterday but just excited and nervous today. Just want Monday to get here.
  15. I'm getting so nervous - surgery on Monday, 9/15.
  16. I'm in! My surgery date is September 15.
