  1. Hi!! My name is Ann Marie and I had my lap-band surgery on October 8, 2007. I have lost a total of 43 pounds. I live in Kansas City, married and have two teenagers. I need someone to motivate me, to give me encouragment. I think if I had that I would have a much better outlook. Thank you!!! Ann Marie
  2. Hello everyone!!! My 1 year anniversary was on October 8. I have lost a total of 45lbs :)But I am not losing a fast as I want to be. I haven't had a fill for quite sometime now. But it is strange at times because depending on the day or even the time of day I am not able to eat because I feel full. does this happen to anyone else?
  3. Hi Everyone, It has been 1 year ago today that I had my surgery!!!!!!!!!! I have lost a total of 43lbs. I am a slow looser but at least I am 43lbs lighter. The time has gone by very quickly and sometimes I am hard on myself but I have to remember where I was before and where I am now. I still have about 75lbs to go. I will take it one day at a time and know that I will have good and bad days. Good Luck to Everyone!!!!! Take care and God Bless.
  4. Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Way to go.....

  6. I had my surgery on 10/8/07 and I have lost about 30lbs. I get really frustrated because I don't eat nearly as much as I did before the surgery. But I have realized some of the things that I am doing wrong. For instance I use to drink diet moutain dew before the surgery. I need caffine so I changed to ice tea and add Splenda but I have noticed that when I add the sweetner my stomach starts growling soon after. I need to give that up. I feel fuller longer in the mornings if I have a protein drink. Also I need to drink more water. I have been stuck at the 30lb mark now for a month. I do know how everyone feels. I still think about what am I going to try and eat for the next meal. I am discouraged and when I feel like I have no control I eat. I can use some support as well. I would love to blog daily with all of you. I am looking forward to hearing what everyone has to say. Have a great evening :w00t:!!!!!
  7. salsa1877, :Hi ! I would love to know what have you been eating and what type of activity are you doing? I had my surgery on 10/8/07 and have lost 30lbs. I don't think I am eating enough or maybe not the right foods. For instance forr breakfast I had a bowl of life cereal, lunch I had baked tortilla chips and picante sauce. Dinner was a 1/2 order of a chicken and mashed potatoes dish from 54th street restaurant. I try to walk at least every other day. What do you think?
  8. Lisa, I am having a problem with the food going down. Most of the time when I eat the food seems to get stuck. Its not an issue of me feeling fool just that I can't get the food down. Were you having this problem? If so was your fill too tight? Thanks Ann Marie
  9. I'm wondering if my band is too tight? I had my 4th fill last Wednesday and pretty much everything I eat gets stuck that I have to throw up. I even do this with crackers. I'm not even able to get full because I can't really eat anything. I would like anyone's opinions or advice. thank you
  10. Laura you are not alone!!! I feel like I am hungry the majority of the time. It is as if I have no self control at times. I miss one thing though Im not able to eat bread. What about you? I still find myself thinking what am I going to eat next? Focusing the majority of my thoughts on food. I pray daily and try to focus my thoughts on Him. Good Luck to you.
  11. I was banded on 10-8-07 and have had 1 fill. The majority of the time I really don't feel any restrictions. I do get down on myself because I feel like I'm not loosing enough weight. It is very frustrating. But Im trying to be patient. I feel better knowing that I am not alone.
  12. 11/2/2007 I still continue to struggle with my weight. I am not getting that full filling like I think I should. I haven't had my first fill yet. I will be having that on November 15. I am just tired of being over weight. Not being able to look or feel comfortable shopping for clothes for myself. I looked at myself in the mirror and I can see why my husband doesn't want to have anything to do with me. My arms are just huge acutally every part of my body is. I hope soon that I won't have such a low self esteem. I am thankful that God allowed me to have the surgery. I just get really lonely and sad. But I just have to have aith in God the Father and know that He is there with me all the way.

  14. I would love to talk with other Christians regarding the lap band surgery. I had my surgery done October 8, 2007. I have not gone for my post-op yet. I am going on October 25. Please keep me in your prayers as I get discouraged very easy. I will keep all of you in my prayers. God Bless! Ann Marie
  15. I would appreciate if anyone would let me know what I can eat 3rd week out. I lost the book the doctor had given me and I'm lost without it. Do you think I could eat refried beans???? What other suggestions. Thanks!!!:help:
  16. Msmarymac, congratulations!!!!
  17. Brandy, Congrats to you!!!!! You look wonderful. You are an inspiration.
  18. Thank you. I didn't receive a post-op menu. But I will get some protein shakes and try to stay away from carbs. Once I get my 1st fill how will I feel? Will I stay full longer? Please explain as to what happens?
  19. Hello! Im hoping someone can help me. I had my surgery on October 8, 07. By the end of that week I was eating mashed potatoes and gravy, ( I asked the doc's secretary and she said it would be ok) mac and cheese. I ate jello and drank the broth but I would wake up in the middle of the night hungry. When I eat I know I eat at least a cup or more. Is this wrong??? Prior to surgery and even now I have never spoken with a dietician. I'm afraid now that I have messed something up or I have stretched the band way out or I may never be able to get back on track. I feel like a failure:(!! I know I should be very watchful of the quantity of food I'm eating. I dont know how often I am suppose to eat or how much. Please if anyone would help me or give me advice or reassurance I would be very grateful. Thank you so much. God Bless!
