  1. This is fun. I ran another mile tonight jus to distance myself a smidge from my good friend Mr Whosya. I don't know how long I can keep up this pace, but it sure is fun. I'm going to bed early tonight. Gotta rest up for another day!!
  2. Leslie, I am still laughing. what a mental picture. I hope they weren't all out leg lifts. Today - Another 5 mile run. Whosya is on my heels on a Nike+ challenge so I may try to add a mile tonight.
  3. Oh there is a GOD!!!!!! When I just looked at the challenge my last run hadn't posted yet. So, I am currently 2 miles ahead of Whosya. I'm sure that's not for long, but at least I can erast my tired little legs for the rest of tonight. I am SOOO competitive. It is a blessing and a curse!! Everyone is doing a great job! THis is so much fun to do together. Keep it up!!
  4. I set mine on distance. Usually I put in a 5 mile run. I like how it tells me how much I have left. Keeps me motivated. OMGosh, I am trying soooo hard to keepup with Whosya!! My joints are aching. My legs are soooo tired. I got home from my 5 mile run and saw he ran again!!!! So now I will ahve to run again tonight. Come hell or high Water I am doing everything in my power to win this challenge. I always come up just shy. So get ready Whosya, I don't know where I am going to get it, but I am going to stay in the runnin with ya!!! Seriously, your runs are great motivation, if I don't kill myself!! LOL!!
  5. It's pretty cool and not real expensive. I am kinda addicted. Go to www.nikeplus.com I got mine at Academy.
  6. So glad to see you posting Leslie. Looks like you are back on track!!
  7. Georgia, Last I checked you were pretty much kickin butt on the challenge as well. We are all doing great. I have this crazy goal to run 100 miles this month. Don't ask why. I am just crazy like that. It really does feel good to be focused again!!
  8. I wanted to weigh too. Surely we are losing. we can do it!! Hey, why don't you weigh on Monday with me so that we can get on the same day. Then you will only have to wait 6 days this week not 7. Be sure to drink your water. I am drinking, drinking, drinking. I know that will help shed these pounds!!
  9. Today 5 mile run I am so excited. My run today was almost exactly the same times as my last 5 mile run prior to surgery. I guess I am where I was prior to surgery as far as conditioning!1 Woohoo. That didn't take as long as I thought it would.
  10. I really am all or nothing. That is why cahllenges like this help me so much, because if you can just give me a good reason to do something I am all on it. I have a NSV. After my run tonight I decided to see how it compared to my last 5 mile run prior to PS. I wanted to see how much I need to improve before I am at my prerace condition. Here are my numbers Run Date 10/09/08 1/06/09 Distance 5.02 miles 5.01 miles Time 53 min 10 sec 53 min 11 sec Avg Mile 10 min 34 sec 10 min 36 sec Cal Burn 646 644 How cool is that. I guess I didn't lose much ground during my recovery. I must say, however, it seems much harder now than before. Tonight i grilled salmon and made a most yummy salad for supper. It was wonderful. Now if I could only be my "all" self all of the time. I guess I will just enjoy it while it lasts.
  11. MacMadame, I don't seem to have your email address. PM it to me and I will invite you to the challenge. Thatdegirl, Mine seems to be on as far as the calibration. Can you recalibrate yours?? To be honest, I don't remember calibrating mine. Surely I did. It is right on with distances. Don't worry about being in first place. The goal is just to keep us all motivated. Everyone is doing a great job!!
  12. MacMadame, As long as you have the sensor on the the nike plus set up on your ipod and started the run using it then it should count. I will see if I can set you up on the challenge.
  13. Yesterday, 5 mile runwalk. More running than walking this time. Man, it kicked my butt. Today...yet to be determined.
  14. BTW, Just got back from the allergy doctor. My little Dylan(the curly headed one) is allergic to eggs and corn. Yikes!! We now have more than one reason not to eat processed foods. Corn syrup is in most of that junk. Anyway, he is also allergic to molds and goat weed. We live in East Texas. There is no way to avoid molds and goat week. He may have to have allergy shots at some point, but as long as benadryl and Zyrtec works we are sticking with that. Dalton had a lot of allergies and outgrew them. I am praying Dylan will do the same!!
  15. You will be there in no time. I really dreaded changing mine too, but I felt empowered when I did. It was kinda weird. That simple act seemed like it was an act of me retaking control of my goals. I am where I am, and ionly I can do anything about it. We can do this. Can't wait to see our ticker's moving in the right direction very soon!!!
  16. I got my nike plus at Academy. I waited too late to run as well. It kicked my butt. I thought I night die. I did 5 miles. I ran the 1st mile and then for the rest of the time I ran through one song and then walked through the next song. It was the hardest 5 miles of my life. Going to bed now!!
  17. Thatdegirl, I added you. You should have an invite. This is sooo cool. I do see increased motivation on our fun little thread!! Georgia, great run. I have done 2 miles and wanted to quit, but now I guess I am going to have to go get back on the stinkin treadmill. It is pouring down rain outside so that kinda messed up my runnin for today!
  18. The challenge we are doing is with the nike plus system. You can go to www.nikeplus.com to learn more about the equipment. It is very inexpensive and is used with your ipod. I would love to add you to the challenge. If you get the software just pm me your email address and your nikeplus userid and I will get you going. 3.2 miles 5 to 6 days a week is awesome. I am not doing that right now, but all of you have motivated me to get going again!!
  19. It was hard to change mine too, but I need to be realistic about where I am and I am heavier than my ticker. I needed a kick in the butt and I think having to change it might have just done it! I have always said that my ticker is one directional, but now I don't have to lose 9 pounds before any of it counts. I will have to work hard for each pound and they ALL count.
  20. OK, so my weight is up this morning. I knew it would be. I officially weigh 170. Ok there. Now to get the scales moving in the right direction again. Everyone have a great week!!
  21. OK, I am really gearing up to get back on track with this thing. I have thought of something new I am going to do. I am going to weigh every Monday morning and that's it. Here's the kicker...Each Monday when I weigh I will adjust my ticker to my actual weight, even if it is up. I am 7 or 8 pounds above my ticker weight. I have got to get real with myself, and my ticker needs to reflect where I REALLY am. I think this will help motivate me. Anyone want to join me with a ticker update in the morning. A fresh start we might say. I don't want to have to lose 7 pounds before any of it "counts". ANy takers??
  22. Next time I think we should do a team challenge. All of us against Whosya! LOL Whosya I'm glad you are such a good sport. We just pick on you because you are a man and because you kick butt!! But......you better watch out! Here we come!!!! Man, I'm good at talking trash. Now to back it up!!
  23. I check her blog and she hasn't blogged since the end of October. I am really concerned about her. I hope she is doing ok. I don't have her email to invite her, but I will PM her and see if she wants to join us. Great idea. BTW, Did you really have to show the results of that last challenge. LOL Man, did you ever kick my butt. It won't be so easy this time!!
  24. Jachut, I didn't know that 8km and relaxed could be in the same sentence. LOL Great job!! I did a 5 mile runwalk this morning!!
