  1. I'm looking for a little guidance here. I'm 5 days post op and have been having pain below my ribs on the left side. It seems like it gets worse when I try to drink something. Did anyone else experience this? Is there anything I can do to help it? I should mention I had surgery in Mexico so it's not like I can just run back to the surgeon. I did email the coordinator. Any advice would be appreciated!
  2. @@Kramer17 Thanks for responding! I took gas-x and tylenol and it is gone now. I figure it was either gas or muscles
  3. Hello! I just joined this site a while ago after stalking for two days! I'm looking at going with Dr. Quinones for the gastric sleeve but was wondering if people had any opinions about him. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated-this is a terrifying yet exciting possibility!
  4. There's also a group on Facebook, weight loss surgery-Mexico, that is very helpful too. It's a closed group so you have to ask to join. It's been another great resource.
  5. I'm taking my stepson who speaks Spanish and is in med school! It makes me feel better to know he'll be there but still so so scary!
  6. I'm July 25 with Dr. Quinones. I'm excited but absolutely terrified at the same time! Anyone else feel that way?
  7. @@BlondeBanshee Thanks so much for your response. It helps so much to hear about people's positive experiences! Did you get charged more for staying an extra night? Anything you wish you had done differently?
  8. I am in need of some suggestions/alternatives to the protein shakes. I'm on day 5 of my pre-op diet and I'm already getting tired of the protein shakes. I did order a sample pack from Unjury but I've only tried the strawberry sorbet so far-yuck! I'm hoping that I can use the unflavored protein powder but could use some suggestions on what people have added it to. Any help would be much appreciated! On a positive note, I've been soda free for five days-huge accomplishment for me, the ultimate soda junkie

    Need food suggestions!

@@mi75 Thanks for your input! I've tried to give up soda but could never stick with it. Knowing that I had to do it for the surgery somehow made it pretty easy for me!
  10. Looking for anyone else having surgery July 25 so we can support each other. Less than two weeks away! yikes! Would love to hear from you.
  11. I am scheduled for surgery July 25. I typically have my summers off (til mid-August) so I wasn't worried about having enough recovery time. I just found out today that I have 8 different days of training, starting August 4. Is that going to be enough recovery time? Stressing just a little
  12. Thanks for sharing! You look amazing and help inspire pre-sleevers like me! I think the comment that you should be in pictures was saying that you're gorgeous and could be a model
  13. @@nikkitierney That sounds great! Are you on your pre-op diet now?

    Juicing?

I'm still pre-op, scheduled for surgery July 25 I'm not a huge fan of the protein shakes so was trying to think of some other options. Has anyone tried juicing and adding unflavored protein powder? Is this a viable option? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Juicing?

Thanks for all the responses. I know people who swear by juicing but I will definitely check with the nutritionist. I don't own a juicer so not anything I planned on rushing into anyway

    Juicing?

@@2muchfun I was thinking juicing with vegetables more than fruit, which would mean less carbs/sugar. Any thoughts on that? Thanks!
  20. @@CandyPants81 You'll have to let me know how it goes. I'm excited but terrified!
  21. I'm having surgery with Dr. Quinones. Too bad we weren't going to the same surgeon!

    Methods of Self paying

I spoke with Dr. Q's facilitator yesterday and they no longer offer financing. He said they never offered in-house financing but utilized an outside company. They no longer utilize that option because the customer's account kept getting sold to other companies and their terms of the loan would also change.
