Thank you for the words of encouragement. That's a good way of looking at it.

A few years back I went to my doctor and asked for help loosing weight and he said it was my destiny to be overweight and that I would one day have diabetes too. I cried and he decided I was very sad/depressed. He prescribed an antidepressant for me. I was depressed so I filled the prescription, but I left there on my own as far as my weight was concerned. To this day not one doctor has ever helped me with my weight. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow for a general physical. I had typical lab work done last week and this doctor (a new one) sent me a letter saying I now have high cholesterol to add to the rest of the list of health concerns. I'm sick and tired of health problems, my weight, and taking medication. I'm ready for VSG!!!
  3. Once having surgery has anyone seen a significant reduction in their grocery bill? If so, how much do you estimate the reduction? I know we have to eat healthier which usually cost more, but our stomachs are supposed to be smaller and fill up faster. I'm trying to find extra money in the budget to finance surgery and I thought less food means a smaller grocery bill every week. It's probably wishful thinking on my part.
  4. That's great to hear, I wasn't looking forward to an open surgery.
  5. I have had two previous laparoscopic surgeries, I was under the impression you could only have two surgeries laparoscopically. Does anyone know if that has changed in recent years? If it hasn't how would they perform a gastric sleeve? Would they open the abdominal area up like a c-section?
  6. Am looking for current info on Dr Juan Lopez Corvala . . . I would love to hear from patients who've gone to him for VSG surgery. I would also love to hear comments on the hospital and staff at Angeles Hospital International. I did a search and nothing current came up so I thought I would ask. Thank you!!
