  2. Is Dr. Fedorak doing Bands? Are there several at Penrose who do bands now? My insurance would only cover Penrose last year and only one physician and he didn't do banding. So I paid cash and went with Dr. Kirshenbaum in Aurora. My insurance now covers banding as of July and they said the one doctor whom they cover is just starting to do the Lap Band. I have friends at work who want to have the Band, but I wasn't sure who the surgeon was. Just rambling here!
  3. Congratulations Grammy! That's great! So you have a brand new Grandson? That's wonderful! When I had my surgery the pre-op diet wasn't difficult at all. I lost 13lbs on it.
  4. Hey Patty-Girl! Pretty Toes! Can you do mine, next time you visit my area? I bet you're so excited about that new grandbaby girl! I love babies! All kinds of babies, With and without! (if you know what I mean!) They're soft, they smell good, they have tiny fingers that wrap around my finger and I just melt!

  9. I had to pay cash for my surgery, so my choices were few for docs in the US. Where do you live and is your insurance paying for your surgery?
  10. Hi Bikini, You can call his office and ask. If I remember correctly, he doesn't take any insurances... but please call his office. Dr. K's number is - 303-695-1304. Good Luck Dear. I hope you find a good surgeon who takes your insurance!
  11. Hi Bookholder! Don't you look cute in our RR pictures? I'd love the 2xl and 1xl scrubs, if you have any purple. They have a dress code here at Parker and we have to wear purple. We all look like Barney. I have probably over 100 pairs of scrubs of all different colors and baby patterns... but I can't wear any of them. Last year for my birthday a friend gave me the "next to nothing" scrubs that feel like silk. BUT they are in peach, so I can't wear them! ARGH! I'd love to get some of your other clothes too! We can do that at RR. Did you get your Body Bugg? Wednesday work for me! AND thanks for joining the challenge! 15lbs is totally respectable! Anything is appropriate! Bookholder - 15lbs Dee - 20lbs. Anyone else?
  12. I'm glad you had a good experience so far. Many bad things can happen to patients and 99% of them have nothing to do with the patient, but with the medical professional. Be careful when you blame others for the malpractice of some doctors. I feel sorry for the average patient who puts their trust, time, money and hopes in a doctor who is not careful, professional or skilled. I hope things go well for you and your Band. Everyone deserves to be healthy and well. AND everyone deserves to have a doctor who is educated and cares about his patients when it comes to helping them use their Band as the best tool to find good health.
  13. Oh My Dear! I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Please accept my sympathies! I am very sorry!
  14. Thanks Mal! I got a little scared! Money is tight right now and I really wanted to join the race. Do you know anyone who lives in Tollgate? I've been looking at homes there. If I moved there, I'd almost be your neighbor! What days are good for everyone for our next RR meeting? Love, :rolleyes2: dee~

  17. Oh My! What is the difference? Do you know? Another pound? Wow! Congrats! Only 22 lbs to Twoderland? I can't wait to get there! Don't forget to take your pretty toes on the scale picture!
  18. Lifesaver - I know that feeling well. Waking up one day and the restriction is gone! That's why I had to start the PB diet, because I did not want to gain any weight. I have my next fill on Thursday! I think I'll make it! I can't wait to eat fruit again! I miss it! I'm curious to hear if others have experienced the same as we have. Mal - I hope you can run the Race for the Cure and I can walk it! That will be great! It's not until October, so I think there is a good chance, we'll be there! Do you have to get sponsors to do the race? Sewpfun2 - Welcome to the Loser's Bench! We've kept it warmed up for you! It's great to have you in Bandsterland with us! Sounds like you're doing great! We should be planning our next RR meeting soon! I went to my first last October before I was even banded! It was great! Mal, Anita, Michelle and Marilyn let me ask all of my questions! I loved it! Have a wonderful weekend Girls! Happy Memorial Day! I'm working Sat, Sun and Monday! Let's start considering dates for our next RR meeting! Love, dee~
  19. Okay Missy I'm counting you in for the Ten Week Challenge! I'm glad to have you join me! AND congrats on that SV! I know what a joyful moment it is to see the scale move!!! Keep up the running! I'm so proud of you! dee~
  20. Mal! My dream is to walk in the Susan G Koman Race for the Cure this year! I've always done the "Sleep in for the Cure" -- I had an excuse, I worked nights and was actuall home sleeping! But this year, I want to be out there walking! Didn't you walk last year? I lost another .8 this morning. AND TOM arrived finally! I thought I would end up jumping off some nearby building my depression had gotten so bad this last week with the dreaded PMS! I am so happy to see things started, so I can get it over with! I love being a woman, I loved being pregnant and being a Mom, but I hate the PMS part that comes with TOM. Well, I gotta go and teach a NRP class. See ya, Love, dee~
  21. Everyone! Woofay made me curious to see how many weeks til the BBQ. 10 weeks until the BBQ! I'm going to try to lose 2lbs a week for the next 10 weeks! Anyone else want to take the Ten Week BBQ Challenge with me? We can start it this Saturday and post our losses every Saturday until the BBQ. Anyone else interested? Just decide how much you want to lose and post every Saturday to let us know how it's going. You don't have to post your weight, just your losses.
  22. SAVE THE DATE: Dr. Kirshenbaum plans to host a Reunion for all of his Lap Band patients! August 2, 2008, Saturday Time and Place to be announced. R.S.V.P. to Natalie @ ncardenas@lapbandrockies.com by 7-25-08 with your before and after pics.:blushing: (I thought I better post this again as I needed to be reminded of the date!)
  23. Hi Woofay! I'm so glad you posted tonight! Don't disappear! I got the Plateau Buster diet from some other banders. I know I am not in a real, official plateau, but it's time for another fill and I'm afraid of gaining more weight, so I decided to do this to keep me on track! I had gone 2 weeks without losing anything. I wasn't being a good bander so I'm not surprised. I had to do something to get things in control. Anyway, I have been on it strictly since Monday and I have lost 5 lbs. It was difficult the first day or two, but once I started eating all that I was allowed including the 2 protein supplements, I was fine. It hasn't been difficult at all. In fact, yesterday at work, I had to make myself eat, because I wasn't hungry. I'm a huge believer in eating a balanced diet. I was doing pretty well when I had restriction, I ate my protein first, veggies and good whole grain carbs and fruit everyday and I lost. But without restriction it's almost like the old days. I said, "Almost" -- I still can't eat or atleast I haven't tried to eat as much as I did previously, but I can eat 1 and a half cups with each meal, whereas before I couldn't! I think losing 17 lbs by the first week of August is totally doable AND thank you so much for reminding me of the BBQ. I need to make sure I am off that weekend! Yikes! I need to go back and look at the post to verify the date! Lapdancer! I'm so glad to hear that your daughter and the baby are okay. When is your grandbaby due? I bet you're getting so excited! I'm looking forward to seeing your pretty toe art! Denise, I totally agree with you about the Willie Nelson Peach Cobbler Ice Cream. I bought it on during a bad craving, took 2 bites of and it then put in the sink and poured hot water over it! Ice Cream and Tortilla Chips are my enemies, I can't even be in the same room with them! Okay Folks! Have a great evening! I'm here watching Grey's Anatomy. It's a tear jerker! Crying and eating my SF Jello with whipped cream on top! Yumm! Love, dee~
  24. Happy Memorial Day to you too Nerd, ummm, oops, I mean Shelbi! Have fun with the fossils! When you return, we'll be awaiting the pretty toes on the scale in Onederland pictures! I'll be here working my fingers to the bone!
  25. Thanks Sister Mal! I'm so glad you got to go! Did others go too? Did you tell Natalie, I said, "HI?"
