Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum - Considering Dr. Kirshenbaum
Hey Folks! I had two great NSV's this week! In 2005, I had my achilles rupture and since that time, I haven't been able to stand on my tippy toes! I didn't have surgery to correct this, I wore a brace. Anyway, yesterday at Whole Foods, I was trying to reach the Brown Rice pasta and I just stood on my tippie toes and got it! Then it hit me! I had stood on my toes! I got tears in my eyes and just stood there for a moment of silence! Then today, I went swimming at Lifetime and I was able to get into the pool by way of the ladder! That's amazing! I usually have to take the steps! The ladder! Me!! The simple things in life that others have taken for granted! I am blessed to have achieved! I'm thrilled!

Greenie, We are all entitled to be cranky every once in awhile. I'm sorry about people being ugly! Snippy is not allowed! Aren't you glad we are so nice? I agree with you about having an MD AND for someone to assume that an RN, PA or NP is the same, they are insane. I love Tom, the PA at Dr. K's office, but we are just fortunate! I have heard some real horror stories from others who have had fills by RN's, PA's or NP's. The experience they lack makes it very unfortunate for the poor patients!

I get mine at Sam's Club off of C-470. It's the only place I've been able to find it. I heard, but haven't seen that they changed the Atkin's shakes. Does anyone know that? I did see the package says, "new taste'" -- The Low Carb Slim Fasts aren't too expensive at Sam's Club.

You know Sweetie! I'm so glad you're still coming here and posting! If you want to talk on the telie, call me or PM me and I'll call you! When I'm feeling down I just hide and I know that's bad! I've not felt like doing anything outside my home, but my friend called and INSISTED I go out - I was pissed! BUT once I got out, I was so glad I did. Is there someone you can just get out with? Even if you just go to a movie or the mall or a park or lake. Just to get out of the house! Do you have to work this weekend?

I live on Eggs! I love them! I have one a day - with my veggie sausage. BUT, unfortunately now that I'm on the detox diet, I can't eat eggs or any other animal products! I just started today and I already miss my eggs! I made the best tofu today! I made some yummy brown rice and mushrooms and peas to eat it with! IF you want to use the animated smilies, just click on the link that says "Smilies (More)" it's above the regular smilies when you are replying to a post. See ya!

Shelbi, I'm not sure if this is true, but I heard you were throwing my good name around AND blaming me for being bad on the Loser's Bench! Is this true? Did you tell one of the New Banditos to watch out for me on the bench? Don't be causing trouble! Keep your hands to yourself!! AND be nice!

I wish you could come too! I'd give you a BIG HUG! Hey, I went to Dick's (sporting goods store) AND bought a Huge Ball! Actually, I bought two balls! HA! One small, one larger! They were on sale! Core Stability Balls, to be exact! Anyway, I've been using them and they are really great! Only problem is -- mine is 96inches around and I can't get it out of my bedroom! ARGH!

Wow Greenie! I think you're a Private Investigator! I didn't even figure that one out. But you're right. If you go back and check on her other posts you'll see this has been the theme. If we're wrong, I apologize, but the evidence is overwhelming.

I find it interesting that you made that decision in such a short amount of time. Let me tell you something about Dr. K. He has saved my life and the lives of many many other obese people. True, his office is old, out dated and not all that attractive, BUT look at the surroundings. He's at the Medical Center of Aurora Professional building. It's a old building! The hospital was the same. I used to work there. As far as I remember, the placement of my band was in not done in his office, it was done in an OR. The appearance of his office really had nothing to do with the surgery I received. I've been an RN for almost 20 years and I know from experience that not every pre-op test is necessary. Absolutely not. Many doctors don't use critical thinking pathways. They don't stop and consider things before they order tests on their patients. They order them because that's what everyone else does. I don't appreciate being the patient of those kinds of doctors. Dr. K thinks before he acts. He does what is vital and necessary for a safe outcome and avoids things that aren't necessary. I appreciate that. Several times, I have had to wait a while in his office. This happens with most physicians. I worked in a very busy pediatric's office. I had to double and triple book patients. When a patient needs to get in to see their doctors, you have to do what you have to do and patients who valuable seeing their physician, don't worry about waiting a little bit. I don't. Lastly, I'm not sure about the unshaven look you speak of. I've never witnessed that. I have only seen Dr. K as a talented, caring, self sacrificing medical professional. Good luck with your band placement with Dr. Synder. I have several friends who have him as their surgeon. One is very unhappy and has only lost 32 lbs in a over a year. She's had several fills and unfills. I hope things go well for you. It's not an easy tool to work, but it's totally doable - if your head is in the right place, you're willing to do the work and you have a surgeon who is skilled, intelligent and caring! I am extremely thrilled with the service I've received from Dr. K, His PA - Tom, Natalie, Mary and Marilyn. They are a good group of people. I had a very difficult situation and they were there for me from the first day! Dr. K bent over backwards for me to get my surgery. I'm not sure, any other doctor would have done the same. Thanks for posting!

Denver, We try to get there just before 7pm... I'll try to not be late. BUT usually those who get there before the others sit on the bench by the hostess area. I'll be there waiting! I met everyone there in October before my first schedule surgery! They had already sat down and the hostess asked who I was there to see! I had no idea anyone's "real names" and I had no idea what anyone looked like. Mal, Michelle and Mare were there! Mare some this lost fat girl and she came and rescued me! I also eat 1 cup of food each meal and nothing between meals until I'm hungry and then it's a piece of fruit. When I eat at RR, I usually eat less than half my meal. I save the rest for later! YUM!!
