  1. Well, actually, today I'm Puff Mama too! I hate water retention!
  2. Isn't that GREAT! Congrats! I bought a jacket off the rack at the end of last winter. It fit but was pretty snug. I had to get something my other coat was absolutely huge on me. Anyway, I tried it on this morning and it fits perfectly. Problem is - it's a spring jacket and I'll need something much heavier for winter! We'd love to have you on the BFL challenge with us. I think it's going to be more an accountability of getting to the gym 6 days a week and keeping on track with eating well. It's 84 days. I plan to post every day, so we can all be responsible to one another. I know that really helps me with big challenges like this. You are so brave! I don't think I could do it with a trainer! I'm a wuss! Glad to hear you saw your PCP today! Thanks Mini! I was worried about you - my little Puff Mini! I was afraid we'd have to start a rap group, "Puff Mama and Heavy Double D":drum: see ya, dee~
  3. It's possible an electrolyte imbalance. But only a blood test can tell you that. I'm glad you're voiding regularly. Any extra sodium intake? Hidden sodium?
  4. You should be on time. Sometimes his office is running right on time, others not so much. Did you get my cell number? You can call me and we will wait. What time is your flight? Are you coming here alone? I'm looking forward to meeting you too!!!
  5. I was so excited, scared and nervous before my surgery! Then I just wanted it over with! I wanted to get in there, get that band and start my new life. Make your lists and get all of your supplies before you leave for Denver. It helps keep you focused. You're going to love your band! Just like Brandy said! I know I do!!!
  6. Mini, That doesn't sound right to me. You shouldn't be retaining water like that. You might have an electrolyte imbalance. Can you get in to see your PCP tomorrow? Fluid overload can cause increased blood pressure. Can you check you blood pressure? Are you voiding regularly? When you increase your fluid intake - does your output increase too? Have you been eating a lot of sodium lately? I'm concerned. dee~
  7. She's gorgeous! Don't you remember those days? I love it!
  8. Denver, I love that! It made me laugh!!! Yeah, I'm a bad girl! Then I thought, I better delete that part! The best way to find out all the particulars is to go to their website. I went there and and printed out all kinds of information and recipes. Eating is always protein with carb. 20% fat, 40% good carbs, 40% protein.
  9. The rest of the Banditos can have those measly smiley, we will get the special ones! Because we're special...
  10. BUT next week when we lose, we would have to have one of these next to our names!:scared2::ohmy::ohmy::confused::smile::thumbup::confused:
  11. Coolness! Congrats! 8 days to go!!! Wow! How's the pre-op diet going? Welcome Cassy! You've come to a great place for support, friendship and FUN! I knew what you were thinking, you naughty girl! I actually hated typing it because I knew someone would say something! About the B4L, I mentioned that I wanted to start it after I finished my Vegan Detox and Lifesaver said she has done it and would be more than happy to help anyone who wants to do it. So some of us are going to do it - on the 17th. Are you interested? Join us!!! We're going to do it for 12 weeks. I don't have this condition, but a friend of mine has it and she said she felt like a completely new person, once she started.
  12. IF you put a frown next to Dork, you'll have to put one next to me!!! AND then I'll cry!!!
  13. Oh My Goodness!!! You're not old! I just saw your age!
  14. I was at UNL during the Osborn era! He was a great man and coach! I agree! Aren't psyc patients a kick? One told me once that I had missed my calling in life -- she felt I should have been a "belly dancer" -- this mind you, was mentioned during group! I was pretty embarrassed and figured she must have been on some heavy duty drugs! That or she was blind!
  15. Sidann, That's very BIG of you (absolutely no pun intended) to accept all of us Husker Fans! Brandy, Magaines and Me! I appreciate it! In turn, I will accept that fact that you're a Sooner! Sooners were our Biggest Rival when I went to school there!!
  16. I return to Lincoln every April for Alumni Weekend at Union College. I've considered returning to school there. UNO and UC both have excellent PA programs. Now that I've been through the WLS process, I'd love to be a Bariatric PA or NP. I only have one chem class left before I can apply to the MS program.
  17. Miss Mini! Get your soon to be ultra skinny arse over here!!! "maybe some of you will still be posting on this board?" -- BITE YOUR TONGUE! My journey has only just begun, I'll be here for years! I say, "YEARS!" Decades perhaps!!!
  18. You know Denise, I think in our "formerly fat" heads, we think that our moods have to be related to our weight. It's a good excuse for us. But sometimes, life sucks and we react to it. We are entitled to be sad during the hard times and we are also entitled to be angry when the time warrants it. The angry part is the hard part for me. I have learned since being banded that I am an "angry eater" -- I don't eat when I'm sad or depressed, I eat when I'm angry, because damit, I was taught that nice girls don't express their anger. So I spent my life - stuffing it! (or as evidence shows - stuffing my mouth!) You're blessed to have a hubby who will talk things out with you. And he's blessed to have you in his life. You're a good wife and a good Mom and a wonderful person. Thanks for giving of your time to share you weight loss journey with all of us.
  19. Thanks!!! You're very sweet to say that! I am a Husker's Fan! I was there in the mid 80's - AND I do believe I wore a lot of RED! I absolutely love Lincoln, I'd move there tomorrow if I could!
  20. Upcoming Bandito Events: Body For Life challenge starting 9/17/08 - Lifesaver is our fearless leader! (thanks Life!) 1st 12 week - to end 12/10/08 September 23rd, Atlanta Bread Company, @ 5:30pm, Aurora Town Center (we're going to show Deb a good time!) October (we need to determine a date for our Red Robin group) November 4th, Meet Jaime for "the night before she joins us on the bench" dinner (location TBD) (shall we make the 11/4/08 gathering our usual monthly gathering?)
  21. Sweetie, Do what you need to do to heal... we will always be here. We love you lots and I will keep you in my prayers. Bless You, dee~
  22. I wasn't sure when your Bandiversary was. Only 17 more pounds to go, is amazing! Did you ever think you'd make it to goal in one year? I bet you are more motivated. I'm excited about starting the BFL. I was reading last night something Dr. Oz said about our weight and what our bodies feel best at. He said that if we can go back and see what we weighed throughout our early teen years, that is most likely the weight our bodies will be most comfortable at. For me, that's 130's to 150's. I'd love to go there again. I see you got your ticker to work! GREAT! You're my fellow Husker Fan!
  23. Silly Dork! A Stopcock (not what you think!) is a device that has three openings and a lever that allows you to change which opening is open -- so you can add fill, close that opening, then remove the needle, and add more fill -- this way you don't have to remove the catheter from the port. (sorry nurses, I was trying to explain it in lay terms) (no pun intended!)
  24. Okay Jaime! I'm up for a night out with the Banditos on the 4th of November! Let's just plan it! Everyone - save the date! Oops, I forgot to mention, Yes, I will pray for you and your grandpa! Let us know how things are going, please.
