  1. I'm in the middle of week 4 and having the same problem. Shakes, water, food-it all makes me nauseous. I was going to try an iron free multivitamin for a week to see if that could be the culprit. If so I'll need to switch up how I get my iron. Plus it's been super hot here in Texas ( think 7th ring of hell)-food is the last thing I want to think about.
  2. My insurance excludes weight loss surgery so I was self pay for the most part. My surgeon does all inclusive VSG as outpatient for $8995. I did have a hiatal hernia so I paid $4,500 and the rest should be covered by insurance. I did have to do psych test (kind of a joke) and one meeting with nutritionist. That was it. Less than two months from informational meeting to surgery.
  3. Six or seven hours after surgery. Had surgery at about noon and left around 7-7:30 pm that same day. I drank my water, peed and walked so they kick you out!
  4. Confessions! They make my catholic schoolgirl heart flutter. Anyway, ten days into the two week liquid diet I screech into the Burger King parking lot like the getaway driver in a bank robbery. Order a small onion ring (sans sauce-I'm health conscience like that) and woof them down. As I'm licking my fingers I think how guilty I should feel and I should probably cry or something but I couldn't squeeze out a single tear. Funny thing is, I don't even like Burger King and there were way better options across the street but I couldn't be bothered to do a U turn.

  6. 4 days post-op. I'm amazed at how different each doc does things. I had surgery at noon, was home by 8pm. My only pain Meds were Tylenol with codeine which I haven't taken since yesterday. Getting liquids down has been pretty easy, up to 48 oz. I'm sore, but not really in pain. I feel pretty lucky.
  7. I had surgery Monday the 2nd. Most of the gas gone (gas- x strips are awesome). Still very sore. I had 3 hernias he repaired during surgery so that might be source of pain. I've had nothing but water and clear drinks which I seemed to tolerate well. Since today is day four I'm going to try a small protein shake.
  8. I'm July 2nd also-on day 8 of liquid only pre-op diet. Can't wait to get this done and over!
  9. July 2nd for me!
  10. Hi! Long time lurker-first time poster. I have my vsg scheduled for July 2nd -start my pre-op diet this Sunday. Excited to get it done and start losing!

  12. My company also excludes this surgery. We were acquired by another company 3 months ago who swore up and down that our coverage would be as good or better than our existing coverage (where this procedure was covered). Of course, everytime I call UHC I get a completely different answer, so who really knows!! UGHHH...............:faint:
