  1. 1 week post op today. Got my staples removed. finally starting to feel better. Things have been much more painful then I expected. Today they said in reviewing the notes from surgery there was a lot of adhesions on my abdominal wall and that combined with the hiatal hernia repair is most likely the reason for the Pain. Each day is getting better and I will say I am very thankful I haven't had the nausea and vomiting some have suffered with. I am using the smooth moves chamomile tea to keep things moving as I am prone to constipation anyway and it has been working wonderfully and actually tastes really good. I have been having a cup each evening. Wondering what others are using for calcium supplement. I am suppose to take 600mg of calcium citrate twice a day. I have.loved reading all the updates from our february group. it has been so amazing to hear from others in the same boat. Anyone else have hiatal hernia repair and/or adhesions just wondering how it went for you particularly the pain aspect. Good luck to all those that are getting ready for surgery and continued healing for those now on the losers bench. This has been such a long process, I still can hardly believe I have had the surgery and am starting my new life.

  8. YIKES! Today is the day, after all of the waiting and worrying, hoping and praying. It is finally here. I am feeling very lucky to be able to take this journey. I am excited about the new life that awaits me. I am also nervous, about the procedure but more about after. I have lived for stories from those that have gone before me. I only hope I can live up to the expectations I and others have put on me. To this that have already had thwit surgery, I wish you continued success and speedy recovery. If you are still waiting for you day. Believe me it do3s finally get here and now it feels like it went quickly, lol. I want to thank all of you for the amazing support this forum has provided. I Look Forward To A Long AND Mutually Beneficial Future :-)

  10. That is such a great thing to hear. My surgery is tomorrow I check in at 5 30 am. I am a bundle of nerves and my blood pressure goes up easily. I have been really nervous my blood pressure will be up and they won't do surgery. Good wishes for quick and easy recovery for all those having surgery this week.
  11. Oh gosh I am sorry. I must of got you mixed up with someone else. wow so soon I would be jumping out of my skin with excitement and nerves, lol. Keep us posted once you feel up to it. You will be in my thoughts
  12. Thanks for the info V8 is a great idea and I like it glad you are doing so great. I am so nervous yet so excited. This preop diet sucks. I just keep reminding myself it is all part of the bigger picture. The 17th cannot come soon enough.
  13. congrats to all of you new to the losers bench! Personally since I started preop diet I feel like time has stopped. I am soooo excited for the 17th to get here. I feel like I have everything I need for at the hospital. Any ideas for what to have on hand for after I am home. I will be on a full liquid diet once discharged. Thanks for any advice you might have.
  14. It is great to hear from those that had their surgery. Congrats and keep us posted on your progress. I am in the first couple days of my two week pre op diet and it is tough. I went and got my hair cut today, to pamper myself a little. the 17th Seems Far Away AND Close At THE Same time. I am so excited and nervous. I got lip moisturizer and gas x strips to take to hospital. Also planning on bringing my robe and pillow. 8 Got Some Fuzzy Posters AND Markers to keep My Hands Busy Thought It Might be HELPFUL To Distract from food thoughts. I ordered a sample pack of syntrax nectar 15 single servings of all the different flavors for 15 dollars and 1.99 shipping. Looking forward to trying the fun flavors. If anyone has ideas on other things for the hospital Or any other advice or tips I would love to hear from you. Would also love to hear what others are planning for once home from hospital for their diet of full liquids.
  15. OMG that is the same download I found, lol. Sounds tough, but you've got this :-) How are you feeling about your upcoming surgery? I ask because I am going between slightly anxious and scared out of my bleeping mind. I Am Also VERY Excited. Seems odd to have such mixed emotions. So wondering if it is just me.
  16. Hi Kimzie, I had my preop Monday. This was my within 30 days of surgery preop. They listened to heart and lungs, went over meds, weighed, blood work and EKG. I am sure all places are different on what's required but most is pretty basic. Sorry I have never heard of milk diet before bit I google uk milk diet and did get information about it, it seems pretty common over there. I must say it did not sound easy but as we know this process will not be and remember it is just another step towards "freedom". Good luck I know you can do it
  17. Wow congrats! I am so excited for you. Good luck on your pre op diet. I start mine next week.
  18. Hi all. Are you still doing the pen pals program. I am having RNY On 2/17, I Would like To Participate starting IN march. Please let me know if this is still happening, sounds like an amazing way to get to know people and have a lot of fun.
  19. Congrats on the approval and wow my process to getting a surgery date took soooo much longer. I am so happy I get a small meal. Just liquids for two weeks, YIKES! but I have seen posts from many that have done it. All part of our new life and I finally see a light at the end of tunnel, have not felt that way for a long time. I so appreciate all the posts it I a really helping me to know others are in my position. How I can be so excited for something and still so anxious (scared half to death) about the process. Keep us updated when you get a for sure date
  20. Kimzie, that is awesome... I know I am so excited. My pre op is the 26th. I start my pre op diet on the 3rd of feb. Mine is 3 protein shakes and then a diet frozen meal like lean cuisine or something and a cup of veggies/salad per day. Definitely not as bad as some people have to do. Do you have a pre op diet? I know you are far away from me, but still nice to have someone on the same day to share with :-)
