  1. Hi, I live in NJ & was banded on 11/7/07. I have lost 60lbs since than and I have had really good times with the band and some bad times. I would do it all over in a second. This site gives you alot of information and some scary stories. One of the best supports I think is the monthly meeting my hospital has. This way you get to talk to people that have had the same procedure. If you have questions or just want a lapband buddy. Send me a private message . .

    I'm in hell...band too tight

Hi Everyone! I have not posted on this site in some time, but everyday I sign on to see how everyone is doing. I was banded on Nov. 7th, on Jan. 8th I had a fill of 2cc's. On Feb 19th I had another fill of 1cc and still had little restriction. April 10th I went to my dr. and he gave me a fill of 2cc's. I drank Water before I left his office and I had a little burping going on, my dr. said the band was doing it's job. On my way back to work I started to feel like I had a golf ball in my throat. I figured this would pass. By the time I was back at my desk, I couldn't even keep my saliva down. I called my doctor and he said, wait till morning and see how I feel. Well after 2 hours of not keeping anything in, I went back to my doctor for an unfill. He did not numb me, I was so uncomfortable it did not matter. He took out 1cc and I had instant relief!!But before he took out the fill he asked me was I sure I wanted him to take out some, he said I will lose a lot more weight if he left it in. Of course I would lose a lot more weight, I couldn't eat anything...I laughed it off, but I keep thinking was he really serious. I have read so many post about people going to the hospital. What was my doctor thinking? I am glad I had him take it out. I find it strange that so many of us had the same problem in the same week. Good luck to all of you.

    Just got banded 11/7

Thanks DebC for the recipes! My doctor also put me on some creamy recipes which does help also. I never thought seeing other people eat would be so hard. Watching my family eat, I wanted to scream at them and tell them they couldn't eat. (I didn't) but I really wanted to.. I am eating cream of wheat which curb my hunger, also yogurt. Yesterday I slept all day, so today I am hoping to cook some things to get me thru the week. I still have some pains in my stomach, but I am not trying to take the meds. I would like to go back to work tomorrow.

    Just got banded 11/7

Hi Everyone! I was also banded on Nov 7th. I am sore, I was able to go out to the store for a little bit. I am having a hard time with the liquid diet. I am hungry...I don't know about this liquid diet for a week. Does anyone else have this problem?

    newly banded on November 5th

I was banded on Nov 7th! I am sore, but I was able to go to the store last night for a little while. Do you have any problems with your pain meds? The Dr gave me pills that I have to crush. This does not taste very well. I am sleeping on the recliner also I can not think about going up and down stairs yet.
  6. You might want to try the Neti pot, this is a nasal wash that gets rid of the congestion, and sinus infections. Helped me alot!

    Hi!

I am a newbie also! I have done all my requirements for the lapband, now I am just waiting for the insurance. I don't know when to have my surgery. If I have it in November, I am afraid I will not enjoy Xmas. (yes one of my favorite food holidays:hungry:). I am also worried about if I did have the surgery would I stay on the diet the dr will put me on......I am so confused and I don't see any threads with the same concerns...maybe I am not ready for this surgery yet....or is this normal...is anyone else thinking of the holidays? :help:

    Hi!

Thank you! I made up my mind and called my doctor. My tentative date is Nov. 5th.. I will have no choice but to make the holidays about family and friends and not food. I know it is going to be harder than it sounds..But I can and will do it. I have noticed family and friends that don't have a weight problem, don't understand why I am making this choice. They tell me why don't you just go on a strict diet, go on weightwatchers. I am just tired of trying to explain to them, that if it was that easy I would not have this problem! Okay I feel better..
