  1. Yesterday was my six week mark post op. I have been feeling a little down because in that time I have only lost 39 pounds. I feel like I should be loosing more and I feel like time (honeymoon) is slipping away. People comment that I look great. Even people I haven't seen in awhile that didn't know I had surgery. I only see it in my face. I Know I'm losing weight, I went down 2 sizes in pants and my shirts are fitting better or loose. I just wish I would see it in the mirror.
  2. I have had what you described before. It is not pleasant. Lately, since I have returned to work and have to actually sleep at night, I have been waking up with a headache, which usually goes away when I start moving around and drinking.
  3. That was the total charge. No revisions first WLS. It was just the surgery and everything associated with the hospital stay. I was there 4 nights instead of 2 because I had a bad reaction to morphine. I am in Wisconsin and my cost after insurance is a little over 4000.
  4. My rings slipped off me today when I was giving my puppy a bath. I am trying to convince my husband to buy me another diamond band to match the one I have now then I can wear the loose ones on the bottom and a tighter one on top to keep them on.
  5. I have no desire to eat either. I get excited about making something good and end up eating a bite or two. Then I give the rest to my husband. As for taste. Nothing excites me anymore.
  6. I felt like I couldn't swallow for a few weeks after surgery. Not all the time. It just came and went.
  7. I had dumping after I had my gallbladder out almost 18 years ago. Since surgery I have not. I feared it would get worse. Last year in May I had colon cancer at stage 1. We caught it early and I am resolved on getting healthy
  8. I went over the same question a million times. I wasn't sure until right before we submitted to insurance. I went with RYN. It was my first choice when I first started out. Also I HAD gerd and I WAS borderline diabetic. Both of which I don't have anymore.
  9. My surgery was around 35,000
  10. I walk right now. Two miles on my breaks at work and do a few exercise videos. I plan on running soon too. I don't think I am quite ready yet. I sighed up for the race for the cure for breast cancer at the end of Sept. Luckily you can either run or walk so I will be ok either way
  11. I had this once it was horrible. Usually now if I eat too much Or too fast. I will start burping a lot. Usually I can stop before either happen now. There are several times I will put another bite in my mouth and spit it out because I know I had enough.
  12. I was having a hard time with Vitamins too. I got gummy ones. I can handle those. I had tried liquid ones and the ell alone made me sick. For my Protein shakes I mix French vanilla powder. chocolate powder, almond milk and a half of cup of decaf coffee. It's pretty good I can't taste the powder. I had a rough 3 weeks after surgery but you have had it much worse. I hope you recover soon!
  13. Loosing soon. I am originally from Racine too. I now live n fond du lac.
  14. I was off almost 5 weeks. I had planned for 2 weeks off but then I got an infection. I have a desk job. Monday was my first day back. It is going ok. I do get tired during the day but I am pushing through it.
  15. That is the way I had to do it. I would ask your Dr though.
  16. I had my surgery July 9th! I had a rough start. I had a bad reaction to the morphine in the hospital and one of my incisions became infected. But now I feel great! Going back to work on Monday. I both look forward and dread going back:)
  17. It may depend on the Dr. I was told it would count. Then my Dr retired when I was on month 4. My new Dr said it doesn't count so I did 7 months.
  18. I had planned on going back to my office job after a week. My surgeon was ok with that if I felt up to it. He retired during my 6 month Dr supervised diet. My new surgeon said no way. That I would need at least 2 weeks off. This Wednesday it will be 4 weeks post op. I find out if I can go back to work after that. I developed an infection in one of my incisions. Plan for the worst and shoot for the best!
  19. Leena, I have an infection in one of my incisions. They took the staples out and they are having me pack it. Is this the same as your abscess? It is horrible! The first time I took everything off to change it out I almost passed out! Literally. My husband now has the duty to change everything. I am so ready for this incision to be glued up and starting to heal like my other one is. I go back to the dr on 8/5. Hopefully they do it them. I wish you luck on a speedy recovery! You have had it rough. Hope things go smoothly for you for the rest of your healing! Vickie
  20. I had surgery on 7/9 and I have had a horrible burning pain in my ribs above one of my incisions. Luckily I haven't had the pain since Monday. Hopefully it will pass soon for you too!

I'm on my way back home call the dr and see what I need to do. On a good note since the pus has started coming out I'm not in south pain.
