I thought of that too on that first day after surgery. Shouldn't I be thin for what this cost and enduring the pain?

Banded last Thursday on the 25th. I'm in gas pain hell right now. If it wasn't for that I think I would fell pretty good. I got to move on to full liquids today and they make the pain in my chest a little more intense so I think I'll take it a little slower. Wish I could burp real BIG LOL. I hope this passes quickly. But glad to be in bandland all the same.

Okay I'm done freaking out. They called me this morning and I'm all set to go. Only thing is my surgery is at 2pm which means no food or drink while I'm sitting around waiting Oh well, what can a person do? LOL Can't wait to get this over with. Funny thing is one of my kids asked me if I was going to come home skinny. I told him I wish it was that simple. Would'nt that be great. Oh to have to mind of a 7 year old again.

Anyone else with Dr Smith and Ferrara in Fort Worth? I'm scheduled for surgery on Thursday 10/25 but have not heard a word from the surgery center. Today is Monday the 22nd. Is this normal for them to wait til the last minute to contact you? With time etc...? I called doctors office on Friday and all they could say was that I was on their records and that they had not sent my paperwork over yet and that it would be an afternoon appointment since Dr. Ferrara's first surgery is at 1pm. Doesn't this seem to be cutting it a little close? After all I have to make child care arrangements for my kids it would nice to tell the persopn keeping them what time my DH will pick them up. Please let me know if this is how this works or if I'm freaking out for a good reason. Besides I'm starving on this pre-op diet even though I've lost 10 pounds. Ready to be done!:help::rain:

Okay this may seem crazy since my doctor has given me an idea but how long were you in the hospital? I have to have someone pick up my children from school and take care of them until I get home Since my DH will be with me. I know this is outpatient unless complications which I don't expect. I would just like to have an actual idea on how long I will be at the hospital from check in time til I leave to come home. I'm very anal when it comes to schedules. Thanks for any input.

Hey! Just looking for anyone in the DFW area being banded or already banded. My band date is 10-25-07 Dr.'s Smith & Ferrara. I scared but also can't wait.

I'm being banded 10-25-07 in DFW area also Dr.'s Smith & Ferrara. I start my pre-op diet next week it is a low carb high protein diet pretty much like Atkins. I had the option to do that for 2 weeks or 1 week of liquids. I opted for the food. Good luck Nice to know there's others in the same area.

Well after I posted this morning I spoke with Dr's office and I"M SCHEDULED!!! 10-25-07 is surgery day. Yippee! I am sooo excited.:whoo:

Hi, I'm new here. So far been to seminar, been to 1st consultation, last week went for psychological eval and dietician consultation and am now waiting for someone to call and schedule my next appointment and surgery date. I am hoping for Oct 17. That would really work well with my husbands schedule to take care of kids etc...I'm curious how long after the psyc eval does it take to get an answer if you're approved? I'm cash pay so no need for insurance approval. I'm really anxious to get going here now that I've made the decision to do it. I'm starting the 2 week pre-op diet tomorrow as if I already have the surgery scheduled.Or should I wait? Anyway I found this site and thought WOW it would be great to have some support.
