  1. Mia I read that too, i think that is why i freaked out. It was pretty painful and i know the lady that i was talking to on the phone when i did it thought she had called the mental ward instead of the post office. My band is pretty tight as it is now and when i realized i had swallowed the gum all i could think was they were either going to have to take all my fill out and i would have to start over, or they would have to do surgery to get it out. I know i am a drama queen but it really scared me.
  2. Pamela One tip with the Mrsa is to be sure you use bleach on all of your washclothes and towels after when you wash them. My dad had it a couple of years ago and had a hard time getting rid of it, they had nice colored towels and mom wsn't using bleach. She started using white towels and bathclothes and a little bleach in each load and he has had no more problems. I hope you feel better soon. Leslie I had to laugh when i saw the gum suggestion, don't be like me. For all of you that i did not call in a panic yesterday I swallowed a piece of gum. It stuck and i freaked out, i was in some kind of pain. Called Malik and she said to be really careful and take small sips of thin liquids until i felt it had passed, sure enough after a few hours it passed and my pain stopped. So i guess the moral of this story is be very careful when you are chewing gum, don't act like a 2 year old and swallow it
  3. Anybody else hate the new layout for the "home" page here? I signed on tonight and could not find anything. Why can't they just leave well enough alone.
  4. Leslie You are right about the port, but it is much better after the first week or two. Call me when you feel better we'll do luch or atleast have a glass of tea :rolleyes2: Brina I am positive that was you, but all i could invisio was it not being and some woman whacking me with a bag of frozwen veggies when i started talking about lapband surgery and was mistaken. :smile2: I live less than mile from Wlamart and am in there all the time, i am going to keep an eye out for you. Everyone, We really need to try to get a support group together again, there are too many people on here that keep us laughing for us all not to have a meeting and put the faces and names together. I have met several of yall in person and have yet to find anyone that is not just adorable to have a conversation with. Think about when would be convenient and lets start tkicking the idea around again. Take care
  5. Hi ladies! Leslie It was so good to hear from you today, keep up with the rest and pain meds and call if you need me. Pamela I am so sorry you are having a tough time, you are in my prayers. The exercise can wait you need to give your body time to heal. Mia I love the avatar of you in your dress, you look beautiful!!! Brina I think i saw you in Walmart i started to speak but i figured if it was not you some lady would think i had gone crazy, and then wonder why i was talking to her about the lapband Could get ugly  take care all and keep posting i love to hear from all of you.
  6. Mia Keep it up withthe fluids! You don't want to get dehydrated it will make you feel horrible and slow your weight loss. I am soglad you finally have restriction, maybe you can make your weight goal by your wedding now. My fingers are crossed! Take care and keep us up to date on how you are doing.
  7. Welcome to the board, hope all goes well for you.
  8. Absolutely no regrets. The band has given me back my health and love for life already and I still have 50 pounds to lose before i reach my goal.
  9. hi everybody I know appointments at the treatment center have gotten kind of tough to get lately, so if any of you are trying to get in soon i just had to cancel an appointment for the 31st at 3:30. I have lost too much to be able to get a fill!!!!!! :tongue_smilie: Did i mention that i can't get a fill next week because i have lost too much weight??? I LOVE MY LAPBAND!!
  10. Mia Stop being so down on yourself. You are doing wonderful. You just need to change something in the way you are eating to get the weight loss going again. I try very hard to stick to the sugar busters diet that we were put on preband. You are just going to have to find what works for you and let it happen. Take care and keep trying ti will work.
  11. YEAH LESLIE!!!! I am so excited for you!
  12. leslie You look gorgeous already, just give it a gew months and you really will be fabulous!
  13. Pamela We missed you at lunch! Next time you have to coem even if you dont have a sitter. Have fun at the beach!
  14. Leslie YEAH!!! They approved you really fast! I know you are a little nervous but it is really a easy surgery to recover from. I am so excited for you. Take care!
  15. Brina You can just walk into the Center to weigh. Just go by and sign in and there is a option for weight only. They don't want you to do it more than oncea week. I usually go by atleast once evvery other week. It iss great to be able to see the resuts and get motivated, they have a scale that can tell you everything you could want ot know about your weight. We missed you at lunch the other day and actually mentioned how great it would be to have more of yall from here to meet up with us. We have to do it soon!!!! Take care.
  16. Hi all! I just wanted to let you know that three of us ended up meeting at lunch today, Mia, Holly and myself. We had a great time and wished more of yall could havemade it. We have to all get together soon! Take care!
  17. Hollybelles I had 3cc's in my band when i went in for my first fill, I don't know how Dr B decides how much to leave in, but on my first fill i got 1 more and then 1 more again on my second fill. I really like Elizabeth for the fills, she numbs you with a shot and then checks to see if you can still feel the needle if you can she will ive you more. I don't think you would really want to or will be able to get a fill early on your first fill, you need to let everything heal, just be patient you'll get there soon enough. I know that is hard to do believe me. After your first fill you can go back every two weeks if needed for more. Take care and just be patient your fill will be here before you know it.
  18. Hi Leslie!!! Glad you decided to join us! Pamela I have had days with alot less restriction. They come and go depending on how my body is reacting that day. You will probably wake up tomorrow abd evrything wil be back ot normal.
  19. Hi yall! Can I come to lunch too? I can usually get my lunch break anytime after 11:00 and if yall don't mind i would love to come. I think it would be fun for a few of us to get together to chat. take care
  20. Paragirl I read your post and could not help but answer, I stoppped at Woodall's this morning for coffee also and it ended up all down the front of my shirt.. I think they have defective cups!! LOL!! hang in there tomorrow has to be a better day.
  21. I explained that it was not the easy way out for me to my teen age dauhter by saying... if you have a house to build is it the easy way out to use a hammer?? God gave you the ability to use tools for a reason. It finally made her realize this is a tool to help me but it is not easy by any stretch. I still have to make good choices as to what i eat and i have to get off my butt and move if i want the weight to come off.
  22. Wecome Diane! Hope you enjoy being one of Dr B's patients he is a great dr.
  23. Nip You look younger in the second photo. keep it up you are looking great!! I am really enjoying this thread. I can't wait to see everyone else. Take care!
  24. Hi! Good to see a fellow mail carrier on here. I had surgery last november and went back to my route after 11 days. I was fine by that time. I probably could have done it after a week but i would have still been a little sore. Best of luck on your surgery.
  25. Pamela Thanks again! You really are our little cheerleader. I wish i could just put you in my pocket and take you with me, everytime i need a lift just pull you out and let you go. You are the best!!
