PrevPac for H Polyri....Disgusting!
My surgeons office tests everyone for the h-pylori. Mine was a breadth test. My perfect was out of the prev pack so I had to take the equivalent in individual pills. I did notice a both of a metallic taste but it wasn't bad. The worst part it's I retest on the friday before my monday surgery (6-16). If I test positive again...they will postpone my surgery. And I'm alway doing the liquid diet

You're so vain...
It's true that the initial moving factor in getting this surgery for me was the fact that my insurance covers it. Second would be that I am over 40, and everything they say happens after 40 does, health wise I feel old, and am pre- all the bad health things that happen to obese people. But number three is definitely appearance, My husband and I have been married 17 years. We never had the big wedding. I have been mentally planning a vow renewal for our 20th, and I really don't want to buy a plus sized wedding dress. I want to wear a beautiful, tight, sexy dress. So I am doing this so I can look better too.

Getting tired of personal questions regarding my weight loss.
I like the band name origin idea... REM, I think it was, gave a different origin every time someone asked how they got the name. I think I might have fun telling strangers different ridiculous reasons for the weight loss. like... I only eat oranges. I took up pole dancing Sex I haven't lost any weight *blink* Yeah, I found an awesome website that burns calories super fast.

New Here...Question on 6 month diet...
You're insurance is really the one that can answer these questions. Every insurance is different. My insurance required 6 months of weight management, and that was from first appointment with the nutritionist, + 180 days. I saw them weekly at first, but that was by my choice. But they would not write the recommendation letter until I had completed the 6 months.

Its not a stupid question. Im not sure either. If you hover your curser over the persons user name under their profile picture, it should open a box. click the button on the bottom, to the left, that shows a picture of a head with a plus sign. If you're on an iPad/tablet, then tap (or double tap, not sure) on the persons user name and it should pen their profile page. the "add me as friend" button is on the right of the page.

Non-scale Victory!
I just want to go to the misses or ladies section and buy something cute.... And have it fit... And not have to go to the fat lady section and have to choose between the tents covered in paisley or the clothes really made for skinny people that just look and feel terrible in big sizes. And pay more money because it's a larger size. I want to enjoy shopping for clothes. I want to buy heels and know I can wear them without killing my feet because my feet are used to dying in heels at 280+ lbs. I just want to stop seeing that look on the shop persons face when you have a question... like being big means you don't deserve respectful and good service. I just want to put on a pair of jeans and believe my husband when he says they look good

Food after gastro bypass
Are they letting you have protien/meal replacement shakes? I think my program allows for shakes to be sipped through the day if more protien is needed or if we're not getting enough nutrition. I would suggest asking the docs office or nut

June 2014 Dates!?
pI'm pretty much panicking too. Mine is tomorrow morning. Once it's done there's no turning back! It's natural. You guys can do this. It reminds of how I feel the 33 story drop ride at knotts . I'm fine getting strapped in. I'm fine when they lift us up. I'm fine untill we stop at the top and the ride pauses at the top... then I panic. Seriously panic. But as soon as the ride starts to drop the panic is gone and I am on the ride of my life! Good luck. You can do this!

Post-op food nightmares..
When I quit smoking, years ago, I would dream I was smoking. So many mixed emotions on that one. Pleasure from the easing of the cravings, then dispair and guilt because I failed again. Then such relief when I woke up and realize it was just a dream. I still have one every few years.

I Am So Angry When People Think Surgery Is The Easy Option!
It's funny how people seem to think dieting is so easy. Just 'push away from the table, tubby'. You wouldn't tell a drug addict that it's easy to quit, just stop taking the drugs. Well guess what, you can quit drugs, and you never have to do them again. But you can't quit food. You still have to eat, three to six times a day. Good people don't offer recovering adicts drugs, but have no problem offering overweight or dieting people food. Why are we seen as weak willed and lazy. If we were addicted to drugs they would embrace us for trying to change.

Anyone booked for 10th June?
I want to say, yes, it matters. You can't have anything except what the surgeon says you can. Because this is what I tell myself, knowing that aboslutes are easier for me to follow. Will it help you to know that some doctors don't require a pre-op diet at all, except for the one day of clear liquid and fasting required by all such surgeries?

June 2014 Dates!?
Good for you! You can do this! This of it this way... you're suffering now, but you will get rid of both addictions at once! this way you won't want to turn to cigarettes when you can't hav food, or want to turn to food when you can't have a cigarette.

June 2014 Dates!?
I have been craving salt too, and I'm not even on the liquid diet yet (I start that tomorrow). Thanks for the idea... I have extracts and stuff to put in my shakes but never thought to mix up veggies and hot sauce type flavors for salty.

Approved
I'm scheduled for June 16th. I don't know what circumstances led you to this decision, but I would imagine they are still valid. There are risks, as with any surgery so your fears are valid, notto mention, change is scary. This surgery will change your life. I'm in the same phase as you, from the tone of your post. Excited to be having the surgery, ready to make the changes to be healthy, but also worried if I'm making the right choice. Whenever I wonder if I should go through with it... I remind myself I've been overweight for over 30 years, and I've tried it all. I've starved myself, I've done Adkins, Weight Watchers, Anorex (the Phen in Fen-Phen), 'diet and exercise', Medi-fast, Slim-fast, Dexatrim... the list goes on. I found some success... for a little while. Then I would fall back off and gain the weight back. I need this. If you need this, then be strong. Remind yourself of your reasons. Plan a flexible menu for after surgery, and buy some of the things you will need, Clear Liquids, shakes, protien sources, etc. Planning and getting ready always helps me, not only reduce the stress and worry, but pass the time. Good luck! And check out the June 2014 surgery date thread. There are a bunch of us with June dates and we'd love to have you join our discussion. Jennifer P.s. Feel free to add me... we need all the friends we can get in this journey.

wedding ring...
Mine aren't either... I wear a 7 or 8 depending which finger. My wedding set was normally perfectly sized. Untill I lost 25 pounds. Now it's so lose they won't stay upright, but not loose enought to fall off yet. I imagine that I will need to do something about them soon. I go on the liquid pre-op diet on Monday,

Food-Stamps supplies ideas
You can buy protien powder with Food Stamps... as long as the item has a food nutrition label on the package it is considered food.
