  1. Anyone else itching around surgical sites? I'm one week out and I'm going to lose it! Benadryl not helping. I know my mom's always said that means healing. But this is nuts!!!
  2. What could be causing this HORRIBLE ITCHING?! I know it means you're healing. But this is crazy! It kept me up most of night even with benadryl!
  3. I'm going to have to ask my dietician about the protein. They never said anything about only being able to digest a certain amount. That would suck because I'm having enough trouble getting anything in without feeling sick or over full.
  4. Doing it. But it ain't easy. Shakes are much easier than pureed crapola. But I'll keep trying. Another fail today but was ok yesterday with refried beans, a little cheese and mild salsa.
  5. I'm 6 days out and barely getting 50g in a day. More like 40. But I also ordered the New Whey shots. Looking forward to trying it. I have a hard time with keeping comfortable with eating. Going suuuper slow. And I found sitting up after I eat helps a ton. But not walking until it settles.
  6. Yea...barfed today after eating a well pureed egg. Nasty! But I just had to laugh. I knew I wouldn't get away with never having it happen. My hubby and kid were out riding bikes. Freaked out my poor dog. But, hey, now I know how much slower I have to eat.
  7. I don't sleep in a recliner but sure spend time in one! I've found it helps my intake stay put. I'm only at day 6, but upright after any meals really helps. I am a side sleeper. I have had to switch sides and that's oddly uncomfortable. But I was super lucky and my doctor gave me Ambien. Also, try putting a step stool by the bed. That helps me get in and out without hurting.
  8. My dietician said "do what you can". And by God that's what I've done! Today is the first day I've thrown up. Ewww.... Today is day 6 for me. Every day is a lesson. I agree, Isopure is naaaasty! I was told to mix the grape flavor with ice and water to mellow it. NOT. Sure didn't work for me. After reading a bunch today, I ordered New Whey. It's a drink you can add to water or just drink alone. Ut has 42! Grams of protein! Look forward to trying it. Spent a lot of time up straight today to help stuff stay put. One day at a time. Stay hydrated and do only what you can manage. I only got 36g protein in today. I'll live. We'll all have good and bad days. But we CAN DO IT! Hope I've been a bit helpful. A lot of what I learn is on this awesome site. There's nothing like talking to people who are right where you are. Don't be upset w yourself. Concentrate on healing. Best of luck!

  10. Just ordered New Whey from the Vitamin Shoppe. Heard good things! Free shipping and 10% off!
  11. Water was easier today. I just ordered some flavor enhancers w protein. I loooove lemonade and lemon water. Hope it's good b/c it will help w my thirst and protein intake! Took first good long walk outside today. It felt wonderful! Glad it's staying mild in Chicago area.
  12. Thanks for answering I need all the feed back I can get. I had my surgery the 3rd. Hope we can continue to stay in touch and compare notes! (Water was easier today for me!) Feel free to private message me anytime.
  13. How do I change my profile puc using my phone? I'm rarely on my regular computer.
  14. I'm wondering about changing my profile pic with my phone too. I only really use it for pictures anymore.
  15. Anyone else a new sleever (less than 10 days) that's still in pain and hard to get outta bed? Also having trouble getting all my requirements in. My tummy is just not ready I think.
  16. Heck, I'm having trouble getting out of bed I hurt so much still. And of course the drugs make the exhaustion worse. And getting all my food in is very hard. Any thoughts anyone?
  17. I'm still in lots of pain. Especially when getting out of bed or in a chair. Not to mention laughing hard (stay away from FB funnies)! Still not easy drinking or eating. I like that I'm full fadt. But it really makes it hard to get daily required stuff in. Lots to learn but I'm excited to do so!
  18. I can eat pureed food now. But it's so gross. This evening, I'm doing G2 gatorade. One tiny sip to help with dehydrated feeling. Lots of diarrhea as well. Fighting hard against throwing up. Any advise is appropriated. I also tryed sim0le chicken broth w sone unflavored protein powder. GROSS. Made the soup brown w big chunks. Tomorrow I'll try some shake recipes I found for phase 1 diet. Gotta be better than today. :}
  19. BTW...the "expected"/ minimum is (for days 1 to 14) 3 - 8oz glasses of water 40 grams of protein Crush all meds (major gag!) Walk a minimum of 15 min Am I just being paranoid? Should I just simmer down and slow down?
  20. I'm only 4 DAYS out. Coming home with all these rules about what I'm "expected" to consume daily. I've managed 2 small protein shakes and maybe 1 8oz glass of water. Now I'm in bed in horrible pain. I'm trying to avoid throwing up. I'm super thirsty but I know if I drink anything too fast or even too much I'll feel worse. *fingers crossed* to feel better soon. Ugh
  21. Just got home from hospital last night. Very nauseous. Hard to get much of anything in. Crushing pills is gross too. The tiny bit of applesauce really doesn't help. The thought of pureed foods right now is too much. Shakes are ok but is it enough?
  22. Is everyone crushing their pills? I had one doc say no need as long as I take one at a time. But the RN who runs the program says crush till further notice! Crushing these makes me gag violently.
  23. My new life begins at 8am tomorrow. I am beyond excited. This forum has been a God send. Can't wait to hear from you all on your new journey. Prayers all around!
  24. Tomorrow at noon my life changes for the better. I'm so excited (& a bit nervous). Thanks for your kinds thoughts and prayers of encouragement. I'll be doing the same for all of you!
