i am almost 3 weeks post op, i was just wondering how long it will be until i get my first fill. went to 2 week post op check up and nothing was mentioned about it. i am a little nervous about it. is getting a fill an ordeal or is it just injecting the band and going on my way?? thanks.
i had my lap band done by dr Nicholson at Richardson. the surgery went great with no problems, but i just went back for my 2 week post op visit, i saw dr carlton-- and was rushed through the appt. he didn't even look at my incision until i stopped him and asked him to check it. i had a lot of questions that didn't get answered!!
my Dr. gave me a list of foods. mashed potato's thinned with skim milk, broth, sugar free pudding, cream of wheat, thinned, small curd cottage cheese, and stage 1 baby foods. I have to do this for 3 weeks (yeah! one week to go) and then move on to add a few more foods for 3 weeks. it does get boring but so far things are going well.
I had my first follow up visit today. 2 weeks post op. I have to say I was a little disappointed in my visit. was there maybe 10 minutes. Dr just asked me how I was feeling and told me I could do anything I wanted now as far as activity. I had several questions about hunger and food, but that was kinda blown off. I actually had to ask him to look at my surgery site to make sure all was well. I did have a pretty big hematoma and was concerned about it. I felt like I drove over 2 hours to see him so the least he could do was check out the surgery site!! so I am thankful I have found this website, a lot of my questions have been answered on here. so thanks everyone!!!
I felt the same way. I am 10 days post op, and the first couple of days I was sore but felt ok, then for a few days I felt awful... tired, lethargic, and just out of sorts. now for the last couple of days I have felt good, but have been really hungry. still on full liquids until I have follow up appt. tomorrow. the bruising is going away but the surgery site still looks kinda gross!!!
I think the lack of sugar may be the problem. I will drink some apple juice and see if it helps. I have my first follow up visit on Friday. so I will talk to Dr about it for sure. also, I think the older I get, I don't bounce back so fast. LOL.
I am 8 days post op and all has gone well. I had usual post op pain and gas and was lucky with very little nausea, my problem is I still feel very weak and lightheaded. I go for a short walk and then want to go back to sleep for a while. I just am not back to myself. has anyone else experienced this problem? thanks.
