  1. My dr said mix Metamucil into your liquids for BM. If desperate you can use miralax those both suggested by my dr. I had BM day 3. Thinking it was due to all the walking I've done. I one to walk off the soreness. Did with C sections too. I had the chest pain and the burp after swallowing. Thinking it maybe your new stomach having spams. It happens less with warmer fluids then cold. Getting better with each day. I think I have discovered what it feels like when full and only taking in 3-4 tablespoons but that is what dietician told me to expect due to swollen new stomach. Getting protein in thru skim milk 4oz and protein with 30grams. I am managing that twice daily. Felt lots better today and I am day 5.
  2. Post op day 5. Was able to sleep comfortable on my side! Yeah! Belly gas discomfort seems better this morning! Woot! Woot! Still on liquids with some access to certain purée foods like oatmeal. Which sounds good for breakfast!
  3. Hubby and I at color run walked 3 miles post op day 4. He will be sleeved in July. Have drank 40 oz. Today! Burping has slowed down too, keep up good work everyone!
  4. Day 4 Greek yogurt went down easier today. Purée til week 3. Just grateful to get a break from shakes. Bought a protein liquid drink to see how that goes. Going to color run today but of course I will be walking! Take care everyone sip sip sip!
  5. I am a nurse and tried talking myself out of it numerous times, but my blood pressure cholestrol and now pre diabetes I must do it so I can live a longer healthily life. Surgery is not a cure but a way to help maintain your weight loss. Everything had risks including staying overweight. I too have lost weight many times. Just couldn't keep it off!
  6. Post op day 3 got to progress on to purée foods. Tried Greek yogurt and soup sent thru blender. For dinner quick cooked oatmeal. Only about 2 tbsp at a time. Still BURPING after most of time. It has lessened a bit. No nausea. Upper back pain and chest discomfort from the air trapped inside still. Hope that goes away soon. All I know is when I had the yogurt it tasted so good!!! Don't get to progress from yogurt blended soup or liquids till day 7. Only took pain meds once while preparing for bed. Doing the color run tomorrow. Hoping walking will get that air moving and out! First night out with friends at restaurant. I got soup and ate the broth. Wasn't even hungry as I watched others eat. I just miss flavor. So bought some PB2 ( dehydrated peanut butter) to increase the protein of Shake and add some flavor. So far so good.
  7. Was told it could be days. Also told if you do go and it's loose it can be from sugar intake thru drinking or eating if your at that stage.
  8. Yes blurry vision from time to time. Chalking it up to pain meds and needing rest. After rest vision is fine. Plus experiencing less of it since not needing pain meds as much.
  9. Post op day 2 feeling better than yesterday. Less pain meds than yesterday. Start some purée food tomorrow yeah! Started some Metamucil today in water to avoid the constipation issues caused from pain medication. We all have lots of eating changes to come. Glad I have you all here! Good luck 30's we will be waiting to hear how you all are doing.
  10. Best wishes 29 'ers you will do great check in once you can. Krystle, keep walking it will help! With the gas!
  11. My leak test was done at time of surgery. Dr sends fluid into new stomach and check for leaks before ending surgery. Not sure I could have drank anything for a radiologist to check me afterwards.
  12. Made it home. Sipping every 10-15 min to keep hydrated. 2 more days of clear liquids then on to purée. Hope everyone else is doing great. Still burping with each sip! Lol they said that would stop eventually.
  13. Par1959, I felt the same way! Why can't I just those the weight like I've done many times before? Well it gets harder and harder to lose it as we get older. Surgery for me is just a tool to lose it and keep it off. With high BP, cholesterol and a rising HA1C this needs to be done. Next to learn the diet and stick to it! Protein protein protein first! We are all taking the first step in right direction. Best wishes.
  14. Sorry New Tee. I usually have nausea with surgery due to anesthesia. So I received extra anti nausea medication. So far only very brief nausea with ice chips. Start sipping fluids today post day 1. Looks like homeward bound later today as long as liquid pain medication works. Hang in there new tee!
  15. Went for second walk around the halls. Sore but REALLY walking helps. Post 13 hrs! One baby step at a time. For those who are anxious I was to just kept reminding myself that I was doing this for my long term health. Stay focused you all can do it. ????????????????
  16. Good luck 28's you will do great! So far so good here.
  17. Doing good pain not to bad if you brace yourself. It actually feels better to walk. Ice chips for me. Very easy to swallow. On patient controlled pump for pain medication. No waiting! Yeah! Ice on left side where drain is helps. Burping with ice chips, so gas it coming up for me! Glad to see the 27's doing great and posting.
  18. Surgery day! @9am. In KC. Best wishes to all those 27's! We can do this. Will post more later, as I can.
