  9. So far my doctor or nutritionist has told me to count anything....calories, Protein, fats, etc I am limited to 5 bites per meal...although I do find myself grazing some days....a bite here, a bite there. My foods are limited. I got back Aug 11th and will probably get a larger variety of food. I exercise...walk and take Water aerobics classes. Weight is coming off nicely. I am smart about what I eat and the amounts.
  10. Good question!! Some diet trackers have you subtract your calories burned. On some days , I was in the hole by200-300 calories. I just don't think that is write so I don't subtract calories burned. I feel "more honest" that way.

  14. Happy July 4th Weight....183.5 lbs!!! Exceeded my goal
  15. I am limited to just 5 bites per meal.... 3 meals a day. Sometimes that is enough and I start to burp. Sometimes I feel hungry about 2 hours later.
  16. I have to take pills a day...2 of which are quite large. I used to pop them in my mother all at once and swallow with a good sip of Water. My doctor said to crush them and take them 10-15 minutes apart. I can't sit and watch the clock so some days it takes me all day to do it. VERY ANNOYING...but he says that it will be at least 3 months out from surgery before I can stop crushing. I struggle with the taste and the powder effect. I usually take a sip or 2 of flavored water.
  17. SHARE YOUR STORY....Here's mine My NSV.... I have been taking Water aerobics for a few years. You may know the exercise where you lift your left knee and bring it to your right elbow. Never could quite make the connection but yesterday I DID IT!!!!!! My pool mates cheered with me!!!! It was amazing.. Thank you Lord!!!!

  21. I will be 69 in September...was sleeved May 5th. I am a breast cancer survivor and the results of the chemo, radiation, etc was osteopenia. The bones in my legs really hurt if I walked just getting groceries. I am very blessed and grateful to say...the pain started going away once I lost 20 lbs. I may not live to be an "old" person, but if I do I have made the attempt to make my bones last as long as I do. God bless you and your journey, NorthCoastLady
  22. June 27.... 184.5 YIPPEE, DIPPEE DO!!!!!!
  23. Thanks for the explanation. I had no idea what it was. I hope it doesn't happen with fruits. I expect to go on soft foods next week.

  25. Also from Mississippi. I have one guy in my water aerobics class that keeps on insisting that all I had to do was push away from the table to loose weight. He is VERY THIN and apparently has never been over weight. Since I am a 2 1/2 year Breast Cancer Survivor, I do get asked as they look at me from top to bottom, "Are you FEELING ok?" I have always been one who smiles a lot so they are not quite sure. I respond, I am feeling great!! The Lord has really blessed me. Most of my friends know what I had done and have been very supportive since they have seen how good I am doing.

  27. July 6 : 192 lbs. June 30: 195 lbs
  28. As far as nutrition....the only instructions I received was to make sure I have 64 oz of liquid a day. First week was clear liquids...went back to doc for check up. Diet was changed to full liquids: creamed soups (liquefied and strained)thinned with skim milk, CarbMaster (Kroger) yogurt, protein drink ( no amount given). I go back on June 9 th (4 weeks out from surgery) and I will be put on pureed and possibly soft foods. My doctor seems to be more cautious with adding foods then most but I trust that he know what is best for his patients. I am doing really good, I feel good and am walking 1 mile in the morning...1 mile at night and have added walking in my water aerobics class. I have no problem with energy or hunger. I pray a lot and trust the Lord will get me through this.
