  1. No I haven't. You hear of soldiers doing it prior to going into war. I did four years in Iraq as a contractor and never thought about it. I did make a decision to not tell my family about the war raging around me. I always told them nothing was happening around me. They were happy with that until I came home and let them know the real stories. That's when I knew I made the right decision to keep them in the dark. I guess I'm saying if you want to write a letter do it. I knew the risk going into the surgery but I didn't want to worry my family and I clearly informed them everything was going to be fine. I advice that to you.
  2. I had to look up the symptoms of Aspergers Syndrome to see if I have them.???????????? Nope, not me.
  3. I read men burn calories faster than women but that said I'm 61 and don't think age has anything to do with how fast or slow you loss weight. To me it's your metabolism. My example is me. Basically I'm lazy when it comes to working out. I don't go to the gym but do love working in the yard, weather permitting. I started my journey last Aug and have lost 81 pounds since surgery. To me that's pretty good for not doing much exercise. My weight loss has now slowed down to about a pound a week. So my thoughts are who cares how fast or slow you loss. Stick to the plan and everyone will get to their goal.
  4. @@starbuckscoffeegal I like the name you picked.
  5. What do you recommend? Isn't hummus high in cals or carbs? I want to try it with my tuna too?
  6. Learn everything you can about what's going to happen to you. Read a book on Gastric Bypass. At the bottom of this site are recommendations. Best of luck to you.
  7. Sorry but coffee has always made me go, even before surgery. I'm sure it varies from person to person like everything else does.
  8. Posting this on the pre-op gastric sleeve site will only get you responses from the sleeve side of the house. To get a complete answer to your question you may want to post this also on the gastric bypass side of the house.
  9. I'm so,so sorry to hear you're still dealing with problems. You know a lot of people are praying for you. Get well soon.
  10. I'm mentally ready for it just in case. There's an old WLS pro that comes on line every once in a while and he was the one that brought up the glycemic tablets. He says he knows when his sugar is low by a feeling and just pops a tablet when it happens.
  11. All the time and everyone else's is changing too. Someone earlier has brought it up on another post.
  12. That's funny
  13. This is not uncommon with RNY patients. You should read up on Hypoglycimiia after gastric bypass just in case. I have heard of people carrying glycemic tablets for low blood sugar events. http://spectrum.diabetesjournals.org/content/25/4/217.full
  14. Wow, since I started this I'm now down to a 34.

  16. I too am notoriously forgetful of special dates. My wife's remedy for our wedding date was to marry me on my birthday so I wouldn't forget. Still there was one year were I nearly forgot about the anniversary. So from all us forgetful males, Happy Birthday.
  17. I had internal bleed after my surgery last Aug and ended up spending four days in the hospital. It didn't affect my weight loss. I'm now down 80 pounds since surgery date.
  18. I use it ever day. A must have if you are serious about watching your intake.
  19. How do you report this so it can be removed.
  20. I brought this up on the gastric bypass side since I had the RNY done and all the responses were also negative in what this PDF file said.
  21. @@enjoythetime I must admit though you've lost a lot of weight without exercising. How many calories do you have a day? That's the only things I can think of that worked for you.
  22. Congratulations !!!????????????
